Hi everyone
Not posted on here for a while. Doing the very o/s thing this week of having DS come home for his dinner  . Long story involving a clash between DS and other boys (one in particular:mad: ) and nothing seems to have worked to rectify it, so am hoping to remove the cycle of what happens at lunch-times, by having DS at home for lunch for a week. Luckily I live close to school, but I'm now up and down there 5 times a day. The usual 3 cos DD is in school nursery is bad enough. Fingers crossed it'll be worth it  . On the plus side It's been cheap to feed him this week:D
I will be increasing my hours at college prob after Feb half term, so I needed the house far more organised than it was, so had a mad blitz last w/end so I could join the FLC to keep on top of things. Doing okay-ish so far considering how many times I'm up and down at school.
Chardonnay-That's a lovely photo. I'll show it my son when he comes in. He'll be v.jealous. It's his ambition to build a snow manbut it's flat where we live and we don't get much snow. We've just got howling wind instead and DD playhouse has been knocked onto its roof in the garden, best go sort it out.

joannasmum wrote:Oh my god the winds so strong, fence panels gone from the side of the house and the large gusts make the roof sound like its going to come off. Recycling is all over the road. Last time the weather was this bad the gable end fell out of the side of the house. DH has just phoned to say that he is on his way home as they have shut the school.
Stay safe this afternoon everyone.
Oh no, joannasmum, hope everything is ok!
My OH has just phoned, he's stuck in a train on the way to the North West, in darkness, no power
I hope everyone stays safe

Well I'm sat in a room in which everybody else lives quite a way out in the commuter belt - one in Stevenage, one in Swindon - and none of their trains are running ! It's things like this that remind me why I chose to live 2 miles from work!

Sensible girl living near work. I'm only 4 minute tube stop away so can always walk/bus if necessary. I'm normally heading back to SWest on the train on a Thursday, glad I'm in London now!

Aw, I should have asked in more juicy detail shouldn't I?
By the way, it must be this very boring training course (which as you can see from the number of posts I've made today, I'm paying no attention to whatsoever) that's causing my imagination to run off with itself, but thanks to this weather I'm wondering whether a house containing a girl in a gingham pinafore is going to fly off over the rainbow and squash dlb's next door neighbour so that all that's left is her ruby slippers... or perhaps our beloved Gingham is too pregnant to take off so easily :rotfl:

Hi
It is SO windy outside, thinking about taking the dog for a walk but she is very small (5 month old puppy) and I can foresee her flying away... I went out earlier to post Amazon orders and the local Boots has 75% off certain merchandise :j Hurrah. Spent £20, saving nearly £47; bought aromatherapy gift packs, Mach3 gifts, cards, lipglosses, nailvarnish etc.
Put all of the shopping away though, they will be used as gifts as the year goes by. Children are at a birthday party, good reason for me to put my feet up and indulge with some :coffee: and cake.
Hope you are all well in this horrid weather.SSB0 -
Hi peeps
:grouphug: hugs to all those who need them hope you're all safe and well in the scary weather we're having :grouphug:
Its cold wet and windy up here and there's a draft coming through the windo by my desk so I'm sat with loads of layers on and having to have lots of cups of hot spiced berries cordial to warm my hands on!!
Things for the sale of my flat seem to be moving along nicely at the moment... spoke to the solicitor yesterday who think there may be a chance of getting the sale through by the end of January, which would be great as it would mean that I wouldn't have to pay rent and mortgage for february which would be great :rotfl: would be able to put the saved pennies towards paying off some of my credit card debt, or even nip out to my parents place in France for a few dayswould be the first overseas holiday I'd have had in ages!! Guess I shouldn't get my hopes up too much for now though
Really needing to get myself organised and feeling nice and inspired by the Rzl's top tips and the FLC. Hoping to divise and action plan for the weekend and attack the packing and cleaning big style!!
best get back to w**k, take care every one
tink x:j
