csarina - your trip to the amish community sounds lovely thanks for sharing with us all.

jackieo- your trip to america sounds fab. i did something similar with my uni mates when i was 21 we went to new york, washington and boston. i'm planning to do something similar this year with hubby. i'm 30 and he's 40 this year so we want to go back to vegas and stop off at a few other places. we haven't decided exactly where yet.

washington dc is fab. everything is in walking distance but they have a fab tour service you can hop on and off. we went to the washington monument, senate, arlington cemetery, holocaust museum and space centre, fbi building, capital hill, white house, washington monument, reflecting pools, lincoln memorial, war memorial.

we sat in on the senate and toured the fbi building

Just having a little OS break whilst on lunch :D

How funny, I was just thinking in my head about how inspirational BRzl is when Shez says the same thing on the board! I always feel that I'm not organised enough, or not OS enough, but then if I'm trying at least it is one step in the right direction? My mum always said I was very trying, maybe that is what she meant? :rotfl:

Moggins you should definately treat yourself!!

One of my New Me Resolutions (as opposed to New Year) is to start booking myself one night a week in. I'm always around friend's houses helping them tidy/write essays/accounts then wonder why I feel so down about the mess that is my room in the smoke and stuff in the South West. I had to leave the SW suddenly last year and everything is still in boxes or going damp in my mum's garage. I think I, as maybe others, need to learn to put ourselves first!

Right, off to read some threads for some OS inspiration.

well it's stopped snowing but the sky is full of snow!!! so looks like more to come. the local schools have been closed and the buses cancelled. apparently there are lorries stuck on the major hills to other villages. kids are out throwing snowballs. a group of lads just went up the street and took about six inches of snow off our jeep bonnet to throw as a massive snowball -was hilarious watching them.

    Hi everyone :hello:

Kids have just had their lunch and my soup (tomato and beetroot, yum) is on the stove. Had some friends round this morning, will have to do that more often as house (apart from front room where the kids were playing) is lovely and clean and tidy. Rushed round like a mad thing while DS2 was asleep to get it looking respectable

Ds2 better today, his temp is down and he's pretty cheerful. Don't think we will brave the weather this afternoon though so trip to the park is cancelled.

Not much else to report. Was feeling pretty desperate this morning after a long day stuck in with two poorly kids and a 5.45am start ('Mummy! Mummy! Mmuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!') so just really happy to be sitting here in a tidy kitchen with two happy monkeys for a change.
