Finally got my curry today! Mum brought me in a sweet potato and butternut squash curry and some rice :)

Got out of bed this morning for the first time, I can't stand up!

Spent today sitting in a chair reading and working out how to get to the loo so that I can avoid the dreaded commode!

Doctors are coming to see me tomorrow morning, and lots of bloods gone away today so maybe get a nod either way of wether this heart is going to take or not.

Oh also saw my scar for the first time today, they've literally cut me in half!

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes.

I hope the tests go ok, Im not surprised that you cant stand up because your own system is being surpressed to allow the heart to "take".

I can go a fortnight without a cammode, can you?

I hate, hate, hate them and as Im piped for the other (another thing you probably hate but you do get used to it) I can avoid them for a long time.

I'm shocked that I can't stand up lol, I felt fine when I was in bed (well as fine as I could expect to feel iykwim?).

I certainly can't go 2 weeks without the commode, all the fluids they have dripping into me have me needing to pee constantly. I did have a catheter but they took that out this morning so I now need to ring and hope someone comes to help me. They have me in a side room because my infection risk is stupidly high, I think they forget I'm awake in here though cos my buzzer can go for ages at a time before anyone actually comes to help me.

You should have your own bathroom/commode and I would hope they dont just leave you alone without help to use them .

you have just cost the NHS a canny bit to change the engine and any body damage will set it back.

What absolutely wonderful news Jen, so so pleased for you. xx
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Just another 1 wishing you well soon and all the best for a very happy, healthy future. Good luck to you xxx
  • Glad to hear your curry arrived :)

I'm not shocked you can't stand up - but I do admired your determination!

Re: commode, there not that bad, and are certainly preferable to the alternative that can happen if you can't get to the tiolet!! I guess a commode is like a very basic en-suite lol.

I always get put in a side room at hospital and know how frustrating it is when the buzzer is not answered. I'm sure they are not ignoring you, just the nurses do tend to be very over stretched :(

I hope the dr visit this morning went well.

Inconclusive! But they've taken more blood and I'll see. Still can't stand up lol.

Sunnyone I have an en suit but i need help getting to it, for some reason they keep wheeling in the commode when I buzz, I'd rather use the real one lol.
