Ryanair Cash Passport, i can't get it.. can you?

been trying to apply for the new ryainair cash passport.
with no luck as of yet.

i have tried 3 different debit cards, and entered my details about 6 times now, and all i get is the following message.
Sorry...
We are unable to continue with your online Ryanair Cash Passport order at this time.

Thank you for choosing Ryanair Cash Passport.

has anyone succeeded in completing the application?

there seems to be no help or phone numbers that can be used for queries regarding this card, well not until you have the card that is.
I phoned up the general ryanair customer services 10ppm number, to have the operator say, Cash Passport, i dont know what that is, you can book without charges using a mastercard prepaid card.

  • Rustopha,

I have been getting the same problem and all I get from Cash Passport is that they have been unable to verify my details? Funny how Ryanair are more then happy to verify the very same card, address and phone number details when I want to book a flight with a debit card that attracts the £6 each way p/p charge!

I have never had a bad word to say about Ryanair, I travel with them at least 6 times a year and am consistently on time if not early and I'm more than able to pack a weeks worth or more of clothes in hand luggage :)

This however is stretching my patience as I'm more than happy to jump through a hoop that others aren't if it keeps my fare low, but when their supplier of the card prevents me from jumping through said hoop where does that leave me?

Have you managed to get your cash passport yet? I too have tried 3 different cards over the last week, all to no avail. Surely we cant be the only two on MSE that have experienced this problem???

Bob whatisname will be along shortly to tell you it's not Ryan Air's fault but is
    • Your browsers
    • your ISP's
    • Your computers
    • Your debit cards
    • your banks
    • your postcodes
    • your mothers maiden name
    • your choosing a rival airline last year
    • your doing it at before 10 minutes to midnight or after 10 mins past midnight
    • your cat for looking at Mr O'Leary the wrong way
Fault. Ryan Air are well within their rights to deny anyone they think might actually try to save some money their card (probably).

Or maybe he has gone quite because he can get the card either :D:D:D:D.:wall:

we await the Ryan air online PR men with baited breath
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
  • I applied earlier this evening and had no problem so far. I funded the card from my HSBC debit card. I've received an e-mail confirmation.

Are you on the electoral roll ? No doubt they check identity via this...

Just ordered mine, everything worked. I used a HSBC visa debit. Just sent the electoral roll letter a week ago so I don't think i'm there yet... don't think they check that anyway. This is not a debit/credit card, it's just like an Oyster card..
  • I've been also having terrible trouble with it - using 3 different cards (including Ryanair's own Mastercard which I ordered mistakenly thinking it would allow me to purchase flights without fees) and even trying in my wife's name instead of my own.

I am on the elector's register for my address, the billing address is my home, etc - there really shouldn't be a problem.

I do sometimes get the impression that Ryanair's booking site is rigged to cause you hassle if you are trying to use one of the few methods they "offer" to reduce your costs.

I thought the idea of getting a Ryanair Mastercard was so you didn't have to pay the booking fee !
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
  • Alisha2008 and lurkylurky - can you confirm that there was no additional fee charged by HSBC when you loaded your Cash Passport using an HSBC VISA debit card?

I can confirm there were no charges from HSBC.

I applied Monday evening, received the card this morning, have activated the card and registered online.

It's all gone swimmingly so far.
