They really ought to wait (28 days? Not sure) until you don't respond before getting your details from the DVLA, so it might be a few weeks yet.

Tempted to smear a piece of paper with dog turds and post it to TCP in Perth.

The return document will contain as much s-h-i-t as what they sent me.
However much you're tempted - don't. You'll be putting yourself in the wrong and committing criminal offences.

    I won't, but I am surprised people don't.

Would they have to pay to receive unstamped envelopes? Maybe postage costs will bleed TCP dry, their net worth is minus £300k already!

If you marked it "accounts payable" then they might pay to release it, although I would guess they would tell the royal mail to return or destroy the unstamped mail to avoid paying the fees.

I've just received one of these demands in the post from TCP. A week ago last Sunday I travelled from Newcastle to Shipley for an event at a community centre just next to the ASDA store there. As it was an all day affair I parked at around 9.30 am and left at 6 pm.

    Two points to note:
    1. There is an overspill car park on an upper level. This is accessible from a side road. I drove into this and down the bank to the main car park. At no point did I see any signs warning of parking fees.
    2. I bought my lunch at that store. I was a customer. Since when do customers have to pay to park?

I've never not paid a demand for something like this, but I'm seriously not considering doing it this time.

Just ignore it. Make no contact and ignore any contact from them. It will go away. Everything else is irrelevant.

I got a ticket for being 11 minutes late returning to my car (paid £1 fee for 90 minutes) after spending £99 pounds in Asda South Shields over Jubilee weekend when the store was extremely busy. Store manager said he could do nothing about it as the car park wasn't owned by Asda. He said i should appeal & he would tell TCP (if sked) that the store was busy. Appeal sent same day by Special delivery. Yesterday, received from TCP a 'Notice to Owner' asking for £60 & threatening summons, writ and debt collectors. No acknowledgement of appeal even though they signed for it.

Discovered today from South tyneside Council that Asda actually do own the car park & are constantly calling the Asda manager to request that his staff do NOT tell customers that the car park is council owned.

The Asda manager was either mistaken or not telling the truth and TCP are obviously not interested in appeals.

I tried to speak to the Asda manager to arrange a meeting but was fended off by his assistant. He was told that the charge was not being paid and that since I received the ticket it has cost Asda about £400 re: my weekly shop and that this revenue is now going to Morrisons.

I discovered this forum only today and it has strengthened my resolve.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of or is it just a case of now ignoring everything they throw.
    Thank you.

Asda are responsabl;e for the actions of their agents, go into the store amred with the letter, speak to the manager and ask him why they are sending you letters demandingmoney with threats, and ask them to stop these letters imedaitly or you will consider taking action against ASDA under the protection from harrasment act as they are fully responsable for the actions of their agents - in this case the threatening leters you are receiving.

There's no point speaking to a store manager. Contact the CEO. The organ grinder, not the monkey.
