£62 for delivery issues in the run up to christmas?
£100 compensation for a football shirt?
£62 compensation for a product in a box which the retailer couldn't have known was damaged?

What on earth makes you think you are entitled to these sorts of numbers. No business could remain in business if they were treated in the way you are treating them.

This is why this guide is a bad idea, people claiming completely insane amounts for minor inconveniences...

I really do despair of some people, when they post here. It's as if they didn't read the name of the site at the top of the screen and have forgotten the main aims of this forum.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

money saving is within the realms of reality
expecting ludicrous levels of compensation is not

I feel the same way about people who think the name of a site changes their legal entitlement.

The forum this was posted in was consumer rights - those rights do not change because its on moneysavingexpert.com.

Quite frankly I despair at people who post complete rubbish too - like say, saying couriers don't have sorting offices...

But couriers don't have sorting offices, not to the extent that Royal Mail has; which you have obviously chosen to ignore the fact that that was what the conversation was about.

  • scenario:
you are waiting for some package deliveries from royal mail.
some recorded and some normal delivery.

the postman delivers a normal package and says " sign here please" you sign for package. in fact the recorded package is still in the van.... if you sus the scam he/she will apologise saying the recorded item must still be in the van and he/she didnt realise you had 2/more packages. however if you dont spot it ,you have signed for a recorded item that you have not received always check deliveries for the recorded tab,

I just had a late delivery from sainsburys, not sure if posting in correct place.

I asked the driver for the £10 compensation for late delivery he said sainsburys no longer do this and this has been the case since feb. is there any truth in this? He got a bit arsey when I mentioned it. He was over an hour late
