Here's one for the forum.
What does one do when one orders from a supplier, say a Garden Buildings company in Norfolk who take the cash up front and then promise a delivery date.
All arrangements are then made regarding access and so on and then, the day before delivery they ring up and say that they forgot to load the wagon and that they won't be delivering for another two weeks and they give a date which isn't acceptable?
Not only has it inconvenienced us but we have people who have taken time off to help assemble the thing.0 -

How many times do we know of the drivers pretending to have tried to deliver the package so that they can get off home early? I know that it happens a lot and living in a remote rural area on the Llyn it's not uncommon.
How do we know this? Some of the courier drivers, who leave the companies, tell us so. And it's not the drivers; the culture is installed in them from the delivery company themselves.
It is just physics, maths, economics and the future of the planet isn't it?
Is it really worth using a large van and driver to drive 100 miles for one parcel?
How much would they have to offer you for you to come and get it?0 -

You can't blame him for not wanting to deliver it. If he only gets paid forty pence for delivering the item but is going to cost him up to twenty pounds to deliver it.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
The point is that acorn5 was saying that the drivers would never do this because they would have to go back the following day.
Which is essentially what you two have said; which contradicts what acorn5 had posted. And it was his comment that I was challenging..0 -
Ordered oven for my new kitchen from John Lewis and paid express delivery to have it delivered yesterday. After booking the day off work and waiting in all day,it never arrived so I telephoned them to be offered no explanation and little in the way of apology?! I had arranged for it to be fitted today so have not only lost a day of work but am going to have to pay the fitter for half a day as he has also lost out on work!! Part of the reason I ordered from them was a misguided belief that they offered good customer service. Not any more!:mad:0

Hi all,
Daybreak's launching a campaign with Martin Lewis to improve delivery standards and help viewers take action against poor service.
It's looking for case studies specifically for if you've had a nightmare with a failed delivery, had to take extra time off work to sort out a botched delivery, or if you successfully managed to get compensation.
If so, please email all compensation successes or nightmare delivery stories to daybreak@itv.com, including the subject line "Deliveries" and a contact number.
Thanks for your help,
MSE Rose0 -

Ordered an item from the Argos outlet on Ebay and requested delivery to my workplace. Tracking shows that the item was delivered and signed for on the 30th April. No sign of it at my workplace and signatory's surname isn't recognised at workplace. Latest reply on the 6th May from Argos Outlet via the resolution centre on Ebay is that Yodel are still investigating. They have until Sunday before I can take it further with Ebay.
I think Yodel have been given more than enough time now and I want my money back. E-mailed Argos saying this yesterday morning.
What should be my next step?0 -
Contact E-bay on Sunday. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Anything legal wise I can quote at them?
I've read that if there's a signature they usually decide in favour of the seller. However in this case the courier has yet to provide proof that the item was actually delivered to my workplace.0
