I'm sorry to see that we haven't been able to offer you a package that you're happy with.
Just to clarify things regarding the Vodafone Employee Advantage scheme; if any package a customer agrees to is already discounted, they won't be able to add a further discount via the scheme.
Kind regards,

I contacted Vodafone via the online chat the other day to query this very thing. I was told that I could still take advantage of the employee discount if I were to go through a cheaper 3rd party deal (which I presume is discounted). Is this the case or not please? I have retained screenshots of the conversation.0 -
The Vodafone Employee Advantage online application form states: 'You, or your friends and family, need to be new to Vodafone, or ready to upgrade and start a new contract. When choosing your plan, you must buy it directly from Vodafone. Plans bought through our partners, such as Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse or Quidco, are not eligible for VEA membership'.
It also goes on to say in the FAQ's 'Only purchases made online at Vodafone.co.uk, in a Vodafone Retail Store or with Vodafone Telesales will qualify for the scheme'
With the consideration that the person on 'Online Chat' can't apply the discount as they cannot verify your eligibility for it via the 'Chat' communications, I would not be particularly confident about the validity of their claims.
I have just switched from EE to Vodafone. I'd been with Orange for more than 10 years and was switched to a 4G tariff with EE back in March 2013. Although the signal is satisfactory, every time I had to try and contact EE, their customer service was appalling.
My employer offers the Vodafone Employee Advantage and my fianc! has been on it for over a year (as it applies to friends and family as well) and has no complaints so after the iPhone 6 upgrade debacle with EE over the past weekend, I switched to Vodafone.
My 4G tariff is over £14 p/m cheaper with Vodafone than it was with EE (who were unprepared to negotiate) and the phone was also £200 cheaper in terms of upfront cost with Vodafone than with EE. I appreciate that 4G coverage is far superior with EE if you are looking at the entirety of the UK but in my little pocket of Hertfordshire and the general regions that I travel to and work in, I can often only connect to 3g anyway so I don't believe I'll be at a significant disadvantage with Vodafone.
It has only been a week but so far, no complaints and I ported my number too!0 -
I've read this thread with great interest. Thank you. I am looking at the iPhone 5s 32 GB -- I'm upgrading because my 4s doesn't have enough space in it.
My best bet seems to be to buy the unlocked phone from Apple via TopCashback and then use GiffGaff. That has the advantage of shifting to a smaller goodybag when I know I won't need 3G, when I'm abroad for example. I think that the cost over two years will be £740 for 500 minutes and 1GB of data.
Does that sound right to those who know more about these things please?0 -
I have just joined TopCashback with a view to ordering an iPhone 6 - BUT the small print [additional terms] says there is NO cashback when purchasing an Apple iPhone 6 or 6 plus......
'Please note, there is no cashback available on the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus'0 -

I have seen refurbished (with 12 month's guarantee) iphone 5 16b on hush hush for £205 plus £10 postage. Is this a good deal?? I have an old payg candy bar phone of 8 years standing which is on its last legs. I was thinking of getting this with tesco £10 per month sim.

My wife just bought a used one for £175 so £205 for one with a warranty doesn't seem bad. Personally I wouldn't buy an iphone at all though0 -
Went for the offer on the iPhone deals page here through mobiles.co.uk for iPhone 5s £18.49pm £99.99 upfront. I was informed that I have been declined following a credit check by network operator (EE) and offered to be found "another deal" by the operator.
I declined this and checked my credit rating with Experian, and as I suspected, I have a perfect score. Is this a shady practice by mobiles.co.uk to hook you in and then persuade you to sign up a to a more expensive deal?0 -
I managed to get a free 16gb iphone 6, 7gb 4G data, spotify for 2 years & unlimited texts/calls for £32.40 on a retention deal. Which i think is good.0

mobiles.co.uk have a very bad rating on trust pilot. I also had problems trying to get a contract sorted this week, even though I have perfect credit rating of 100%. I wasted 2 days with them and gave up. Shame because they are very cheap, but the hassle of dealing with them (and ringing their premium helpline) 'aint worth it!0
