Hi HH. Glad everything is going well.

By the way, how was camping in the New Forest? I've been camping in Ashurst (the one by the pub) twice......and I can't wait to go again.

  • I have just read through your whole post and it is very inspirational. Gives me the courage to really get to the bottom of what my OHs debts are and help him to get to grips with it.

You should be really proud of yourself and your hubby for coming out of a difficult situation so well (and probably more significantly - together!). I think he is pretty lucky to have you!

I wish you luck for the rest of the road to being debt free!

I have just read your posts etc and I totally agree - well done! I am still helping hubby but it is really tough. I have the ebay thing to do yet but cant seem to get myself motivated, along with everything else, I am sure once I have done it I will realise how easy it is! our situation is different and we are alot older which makes it worse in some respects. always worked hard, been good with money. hubbs has only ever had 3 long term jobs in his life but was made redundant after 20 years. didnt get a brill package or anything like everyone thinks you do but he wanted to have a stab at his own business. I wasnt keen, I am very cautious and careful with money but he has the ability and knowledge etc. and it was a fab opportunity to make some real money - Long story short, we remortgaged the house to do this, but didnt even get the business earning as the equipment we needed to run the business didnt arrive, the finance company say its our fault but the broker told them we had it, but we never knew the broker had done the dirty, we have spent a long time fighting it but Business Debtline have given some good advice for free. and have been a breath of fresh air, anyhow, it meant that he was out of work for around 4 months (landed in winter time in a rural area) he also sold his gas guzzler for chips has got a cheap runaround which is brill and is working weekend night shifts. I havent got good health and sometimes wonder when this will ever end but we dont have any money left for anything every month. all goes on bills. I spend hours on here looking for ideas. luckily we have a policy maturing this year which will help ALOT but I am wishing my life away waiting for it, meanwhile working the money out every month is a nightmare and is wearing me down. I also have PTSD from an accident and I really dont know how I have got from A to B but just sheer determination. there is always someone worse off but the support and info on this site is just brill. you have done so well and motivated me with ebay, we have stacks of stuff here - we just want a bit of peace - thank goodness I have a good financial brain and a strong mind to keep us going - as all hubby does is work and sleep with the shifts - sorry to ramble but made me think and yeap it does help knowing others are doing the do as well and winning! take care and enjoy your camping trips in Cornwall, Fistral beach in Newquay is spectacular as is Polzeath, go to Boscastle and Polperro too and Mevagissey if you get time, all quite special ;)
  • HH i`ve just read this from start to finish & want to congratulate you (both) on how well you have done with your debt busting!

  • Just wandered how this lady was getting on as I was/am in a similar situation. I did eventually do the great Ebay sale and made around £400, still more to do but have changed ISP to save money, have had a brill time with Quidco and Greasy Palm for all the household stuff, insurance, and even earned money on our pet food. Hubbs has just got a new job so hopefully things will pan out a bit - wish you best of luck and would like to know how things are with your mammoth debt busting!!
