i love putting them in a roasting tray with a squeeze of lemon and some thyme ( dried is fine) and roast . gorgeous.

or roast with a few crushed garlic cloves and mixed dried herbs.

Also part boil them, then chop them into quaters and fry over in a bit of garlic butter or plain butter. they come out really crispy and devine.

I steam mine, takes a little longer than boiling - about 25-30 minutes but the texture of the potatoes is much softer.

I'll never go back to boiling them ... unless it's for potato salad ;)

I leave them in their skins, toss in olive oil and sea salt and black pepper, then roast in a hot oven and the skins get lovely and crunchy - mini jackets!:j

I part boil them in the microwave in their skins, then crisp up the skins in a frying pan with a bit of butter, and a dash of garlic crushed in at the last minute. Yummy!

hiya, im looking for some advice from you lovely lot :) i have soooooo many new potatoes in the garden that need using up but i have no idea what to do with them, we're getting fed up with eating them normally - boiled with some butter and mint. So if anyone can think of anything different i really would appreciate it, thanks

    • Potato salad, with chopped onion and mayonnaise.
    • sliced cold and fried to add to a cooked breakfast
    • hassleback. Here's one recipe but you can just roast them like this and they look really prettyhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/hasselbackpotatoes_72995
    • I like dauphinoise made from cooked potatoes: slice parboiled potatoes reasonably thinly, make a sauce by gently heating tub of creme fraiche, crushed garlic and a chicken cube, seasoned. Layer potatoes, adding some sauce and a sprinkling of grated cheddar at each layer, finishing with sauce and cheese. Cook for about 30 mins at 180 or so. This will freeze but may need a bit of milk added if it's dry.

I used my left over new potatoes as 'bombay potatoes' last night with a curry instead of rice.

Chop up, add some spices and thinly sliced onions and bit of oil and cooked in the oven for a bit...was yummy.

Potato salad. Boulangere potatoes. In a fritata or Spanish omelette. In a keema curry. On top of a Lancashire hotpot.
