I've got a big bag of New Pots that have an expiry date of tomorrow, and I'm looking for some inspiration as Mr LMLOD is not keen on them just boiled, so I need to make them appeal to him
Any ideas?

Ooh roasted would go down well with him I think. I've tried this before but they never turn out very well - any method I should follow? Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!0

Roasted with garlic and rosemary.
All I do is bung a couple of cloves of chopped garlic and a good pinch or two of rosemary into roasting pan with a good splash of olive oil with the new potatoes mix it round until they are evenly coated and see if it looks like it has the right amount of rosemary and give it a sniff to see if it smells yummy then they go into oven until done which depends on size of potatoes.
Always turns out fine and gets cleared off of OH's and DS's plates so it can't be bad:D0 -
Thanks evilwitch - do they not need boiling first though? Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!0

exactly what I was going to say. i dont like them boiled either, always roast.
I usually par boil for five mins max then chuck in some hot oil MM MM MM:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

something i do all the time as new spuds are the only ones allowed on the GI diet which i'm trying to follow..
thickly slice new spuds (skins n all) - slices of between 5mm and a whole centimetre, put in a bowl then nuke on full power for about 5 minutes. When done, spray the potatoes with low-fat oil spray (or drizzle some oil - olive or sunflower - over the spuds) and stir. Sprinkle a *little* salt over them, and some BBQ Seasoning (Tescos sell it for between 50p to £1 a jar). stir, and repeat the BBQ seasoning, depending on how much you like it. (we like it a lot). Then grab a roasting tin or baking tray and pour the potatoes, juices n all, into the tray, and scatter the potatoes evenly around. Put into a hot oven - Gas mark 7 - for an hour till crispy. very very yummy.

Why would you necessarily want to do anything else with them? I look forward to the new potatoes - it is part of seasonal eating.
You could leave some to go cold and make potato salad.0
