Afternoon all
:bdaycake: happy 1st birthday baby bexstars
:grouphug: to all in need, especially jellycat and taplady's DS
rchdapp - as others have said, it's really good to hear from you, especially when it's good news :T like others, i have been worrying about you all and hoping for the best. I have (sadly) far too much experience of meningitis, so really was praying for Lily
Had my first exam of the semester this morningActually it went OK. I panicked when I first looked at the questions, but then I remembered my tutor saying "just relax, read the questions properly, then twist them slightly to suit what you want to say"... So I did and it was fine and I managed to write for the full 2 hours (and most of it made sense :rotfl: ) 1 down, 2 to go: Critical Theory and Practice tomorrow  then Arts and Media Organisation on Friday....
No OS for me today as I'm (supposed to be) revising. Am going to have to make a meal plan though as we only have £10 left in the food budget to last until next friday   Luckily OH is away for 4 nights and I only eat minimal amounts so hopefully we should be OK! Also I got a dispatch email for my slow-cooker today so that should be here tomorrow, friday absolute latest :j  :j
Have a good day everyone xxx0 -

Washing was on line but it has just started to rain so mad dash to get everything back in!
Mince with onions, garlic, tomatoes and herbs is in the slow cooker with some sausages and potatoes are in a saucepan so they will be ready for mash with the slow cooker dish.
DH took me to Tesco and got some socks that were half price for DD - really pretty. Also got a laundry basket and some groceries.
Just time to pop on here with a cup of tea.

Things like the dishwasher and toilet rolls sound so petty that they are obviously not the real problem Is he worried about money and has he been "influenced" to think that if he managed the money that there would somehow be more??? Quite a lot of men have no idea of the real cost of running a home - the price of things like washing powder etc seems to stagger them. Maybe if you had a list that you talked him through then he would have a better idea.
Mind you he might have to give up some things that he likes and wants - which would come as a shock.
Hugs to everybody"This site is addictive!"

Hi Shez
I first found out about it here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=273626&highlight=sunparks (there's a website link on that thread) - looks fairly similar to Center Parcs. The saving seems to come from the fact that continental school holidays don't coincide with ours so half term in particular can be really cheap. We've booked for the May HT, and got a special offer - there are discounts for parties with young children and also an early booking offer on until the end of Jan.
Haven't been before but have read a few reports on here and elsewhere which were all positive. That man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. Henry David Thoreau0 -

Good afternoon - hope we are well
Im glad today is over (at work), other girl had day's holiday, so did most of the work myself, and quite busy.
I went round to see those people who have the security light on all night, asked politely if anyway the light can be adjusted, as its like trying to sleep with the blackpool illuminations shining thru, She replied, I will ask my husband, and that was that! No apology nor nothing. Out comes the air rifle at the weekend, if its no better, and shoot the ruddy thing down!
Fence looking better DLB, be even better when the panels are in stop. Stop witch's husband being nosey!
Best go, got to nip to the cash point, fetch kids from school & attempt the post office!
Catch you later
Love as usual

Quick question: Whilst emptying my freezer over the course of the last month, I have found a half-eaten packet of Aunt Bessies pre-prepped roast potatoes, and half a bag of pre-prepped parsnips (must be from my pre-OS days
) anyway, was wondering if I cook them through in the oven first will they be ok to make into a soup?

Hello all :hello:
I just want to say a huge THANKS to people who have posted about their teens in a new job and them not sleeping and getting stressed.
Master tru is a nightmare. He winds everybody up but I seem to get the worst of itOnce he's caused chaos, he calms down but everyone else (OK - me) is still in a state. I've ended up in tears most days and that's not like me at all. Though I'm not glad others are going through it, it's nice to know it's not just me
