    Morning all:hello:

Feeling very pleased with self re diet. Haven't eaten between meals for the last 2 days and kept to my points allowance without any hardship. Also haven't had an alcoholic drink for the last 2 days :D That sounds like I have a problem  We've just got into the habit of opening a bottle of wine every night instead of just Fri, Sat and Sun which is our rule. Too many bottles around at Christmas. I'm not getting any more wine till Friday.
    [/B]

Taplady - you sound just like me! We had 10 bottles of wine for Christmas as presents and I demolished the lot! I've made a pact with myself not to drink from Monday - Thursday and that seems to work quite well.

Well done by the way :jump:

    Right...babe sleeping now.

Lily's head circumference is a bit less than what it should be. So the Health Visitor wants to keep an eye on it. Its 37.5, and it should be 38.5. But to be honest after what her head has been through in the last month and a half I'm not surprised its gone a bit squiffy.

My nearly 3 year old nephew has taken a shine to his cousin and whenever she is around he will always want to be close to her. He likes to kiss her, show her his toys, offer her some of his chocolate, hug her....and lots more too. Its very sweet to watch....but not so sweet when he has just picked up a nasty cold.

Lily isn't properly holding her head up yet....but that's no major surprise after she was flat on her back for 3 weeks in hospital.

She got an infection in her belly button and has just completed a 10 day course of antibiotics to try to clear that up. So the next step is to go back to the docs to get that re-checked out. If its clear we can then look at immunisations. And I've also got to complain as to why her new local hospital haven't been in touch for a follow up appointment after she was released from hospital at the end of December.

As for me...my post natal has gone completely out the window. Haven't had it yet, and haven't re-booked it either. And I really must sit down and sort out the tax credits form this week.

Thanks for all the good wishes. It has really meant a lot how people have thought about us over the last couple of months.
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.

He says his body is so tired but he cant switch his mind off to get to sleep, and of course its like a vicious circle because he worries about it!Have tried relaxation tapes and no caffeine after tea but no luck! if anyone has any other ideas I'd be most grateful!

Try no caffeine after 12.00 (noon I mean), and remind your son that it means no fizzy drinks as well as no coffee.

It may also be helpful for him to get into a ready for bed routine, which should be the same every night (as the body eventually recognises it and gets ready to sleep as soon as the routine starts). This could be a warm bath, a milky drink, and maybe some deep breathing exercises. Sitting quietly, eyes shut, deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth; then another breath, deeeeeeper than the first; and now another one, even deeeeeeeeeeeeeeper.

It may help if you sit with him and help him do the breathing first few times, really encouraging him to breathe deeper each time.

    Hope that helps.

rchddap1 - so pleased things are picking up for you, and that Lily is doing so much better. But make sure you look after yourself too, you will be no use to Lily if you are poorly yourself, so job for today - make your post natal appointment!!!!!

    Morning all

Rdchap - Glad to hear Lily's on the mend - I'll second Catowen there and prod you to pick up the phone and sort out that appointment.

Hugs to the rest of you.

Rain is lashing against the windows again this morning - I love it like this - but only when I can spend the day inside in the warm :D

Got a letter from the CSA this morning - I really do hate seeing that brown envelope - true to form the payments have changed again - this is the 7th change in 6 months - it's beginning to be beyond a joke - I can't budget this money into any workable form, payments in the last 6 months have ranged from £11 per week to £72 per week - this newest assesment has just dropped the payments by £32 a week ( that's a lot to loose)- all because he keeps "forgetting" to tell them things....There's now an arrears account for £1700 he needs to clear...not quite sure he'll ever catch up. I wouldn't mind but I know he earns a decent salary and has no debt, he doesn't make the effort to see DD's anymore and didn't send them anything for christmas or birthdays. He even refused to help towards last years school trips as he needed the money for his spending money on his 2 week holiday to Malta..... Sorry - Rant over.

OS wise today - not a lot - another day of card making - WM is on, Chilli for tea tonight.

i've not contributed to this thread before, but thought i'd start, as i'm on OS a lot!

the person talking about caffeine, my OH and i both only have redbush (roisbosch) tea after lunch. its naturally decaffinated and he used to call it 'your funny tea' but one day i 'mistakenly' ;) gave him some, and he's had it ever since! in fact he doesn't have caffeine at all now.

got up this morning and blitzed the cooker, my dad's here this week so we're just going out for the day

have a good day all :)

  • Morning everyone

Back at work today - DD's gone back to school and is feeling much better :D

I'm sat here with a black coffee, about to input a HUGE pile of invoices onto the system - oh joy

OS wise, WM was put on before I left this morning, I'm slowly catching up on my ironing - ironing each load as it's done and a couple of extra items each time - you never know by Christmas I might have it done :p

    (((((hugs))))) to rchddap1 and jellycat

DD has Brownies tonight, and she needs to finish her homework (it's always left to the last minute - grrr)

My "Art of Knitting" magazine has arrived today - so guess what I'll be trying out tonight - wish me luck ;)

Tea tonight will be ranchero pie - not altogether healthy - but I've been eating like a rabbit for the last week and a half - I need some substance :p

Have a wonderful day everyone - bye

not managed to read the thread yet but wanted to say hello to everyone and send hugs to all.

well after waking at midnight on tuesday i managed to stay awake till after 10pm when i began to fall asleep watching a film lol! anyway slept through till 9am and feel much better. my mood has improved, think it helped the sun was shining here yesterday and today isn't too bad, just a couple of showers.

made hubbie brekkie in bed which i joined him for. then got up and started on some flylady tasks -thanks mogs.

last nights chicken fried rice was yum, think i'll take a portion up to mil today and might freeze the rest in one portion foil tubs. need to post 4 / 5 rental dvd's away and might go to dump with some rubbish later.

just wanted to say i think jade goody is about to start world war 3. on digital spy's big brother thread, the headlines are; india has been appraised of situation in house, 13000 complaints re racism to ofcom, carphone warehouse reviewing sponsorship of cbb, jade dumped as spokesperson from anti bullying charity, jade wants to headbutt shilpa, and police have received threats re certain housemates. bloomin heck. i used to like jade, i liked her shows on living tv but i think she has done herself no favours going back on bb.
