OS Thread for Wed 17th Jan 2007

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 17th Jan 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning Everyone.

I missed yesterday as I was up in Merthyr going around. Sure missed my computer. What a desolate place. I finished my jobs and went out on the town at 9pm. it was dead, and most of the pubs were shut. Oh well.

Today is wet and windy again.. nothing new. Back in to work and tidy up from my expedition to wales, oh and claim my expenses back. The hotel I was in was 3 star but the bathroom taps did not work and I had to shower in another room... > I rarely get to go away, but it was not as exciting as I thought it would be....

Well hope you all have a spiffing day....

    Morning N9eav, morning everyone :hello:

What a shame about your trip with work N9eav. I very rarely get to go away with w**k and like you I look forward to it as a bit of treat.

Out and about again with w**K again today (and tomorrow) but hopefully I'll not have the long day I had with yesterday. I'm hoping to get away mid afternoon to reclaim some of the hours put in over the last couple of days (we don't get overtime).

Hope everyone has a lovely OS day. For dinner tonight I'm planning to cook the left over gammon from the weekend in a cheese sauce and use to top a jacket potato and serve with green veggies.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Very tired today, only managed 4 hours sleep last night, the 2 year old did not have such a good night.
Should get home about 3 so aims for today are to tidy up, make tea and finish off our paperwork.

    Morning All

Been awake since 2am owing to banging noises outside out house and the dog barking at it. Very tired and longing for the end of my shift

Was naughty yesterday and treated myseld to a couple of books. I was looking for a present for a 7 year old, and ended up buying me some too. Hey ho, won't hurt on this off occassion.

We didn't have any dinner last night as we all felt ill and not in the least bit hungry. Think I might have been sick if food had been put infront of me.

    Anyway, the news calls

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Morning all, evening Aussie!

Difficult day today. Off to w*** and have a meeting with one of my most complicated clients. We're discussing bankruptcy again, but in the end it's her choice as to what she decides to do.

Children's after school activities have all changed their times - for the worse. We used to have time to eat 2 mid-week meals together :T , but can't do that at all atm. Plan to have plenty of family time this weekend. DS is off to scouts this evening, so need to be home from w*** early to get them fed before.

Plan a trip to the farm shop for more veg, and hope I can get some Seville oranges. Chopping oranges on Friday will be realxing.

Top tip from Mr Penguin: I've mislaid the 10g weight for my kitchen scales. DH googled it and found that a 20p coin weighs 5g. He's taped 2 together, until the weight turns up :T

Have a great Wednesday, Penny. x

    Morning all!

Had a bit of a bad evening with DS1 last night, he's really struggling with early mornings for work(has to get up 6.30) and is in a bit of a state. Was in tears last night.he went to the doc last Saturday who gave him 5 sleeping tablets to get his sleeping back on track(he cant get to sleep) but they didn't work and made him feel dizzy.I just dont know what to do with him.Have just popped him down for the bus but he looks awful and I'll probably spend all day worrying about him. He's going back to the docs (different one) tomorrow or Friday to see what they suggest.
Work has seemed such a shock to him with the much longer day than school - he's out for almost 12 hours a day with travelling but he does love his job thankfully, he's also worried because the bus home is a bit irregular and we've had to fetch him(20 miles) a few times.

I hope everyone else is ok.

Hope you feel better later mrs_mix and well done AMIE on the weight loss - am quite jealous!;)

Am at home all day today apart from a quick haircut at 9am, plan to do some stripping and painting.

    Have a good one all!
    Do what you love :happyhear
