  • Hi all :hello:

Congrats to Penny and your cousin :) And ((hugs)) for Jellycat and anyone else who needs some.

Taplady, can second the recommendation of hypnosis CDs, I listened to birth preparation ones while I was pregnant, and as well as helping me to have a brilliant birth, they taught me some relaxation techniques which I still use now. Just remembering the words and phrases used on the tape makes me feel lovely and safe and relaxed. I remember when I first started my current job I was so fired up with all the ideas and the new responsibility I slept terribly for weeks.

Two poorly LOs here, especially DS2 who is running a fever. Another disturbed night for them both too :( So won't be doing much today, might go round to a friend's for a coffee if DS2 a bit better after his nap. Got the BM on and want to get some stuff listed on Freecycle.

Ooh, and we have booked a holiday - yayyyyyy! :j :j We're going to Sunparks in Belgium at half term - £390 for a 3bed luxury villa, compared to £1200  at Center Parcs for the cheapest 2 bed place they have. Paid for the Eurotunnel with Clubcard vouchers so that was £38 - or free, depending on how you look at it. Can't wait, we are soo excited!!

    Hiya

(((hugs))) to the sickies and congrats to the new parents:T

Busy day ahead - I need to make myself do my exercise dvd in a mo - but my legs and shoulders ache. (I will do it, I will do it...) I have to go out and pick something up later, ... which reminds me I have to bag up a load of coathangers i have freecycled, she's coming soon.. (Had them out ready to bin this week and luckily I forgot and someone asked for them :))

Need to fire the SC up as I have a lovely piece of gammon and soaked my marrowfats overnight. Haven't had proper ham and mushy peas for years :D WM to go on, DW on after lunch and need a quick whip round with the vac.

Have picked up quite a few MS jobs this past couple of days, mainly for next week so that helps keep the wolf from the door :D But I've just got one of those "nice" letters today telling me I haven't paid enough NI contributions and would I like to pay another £370!! Erm, I'll think about it :o

Right, coathangers to find, exercise to do, have a great day one and all

Sorry I haven't posted recently but things have gone from a bit nuts to looney land. We've sold our house and moved in with relatives. Yes we're completely barmy. Where we were there was no family around to help us in any way shape or form. So the theory is that we move down, move in with relatives, OH finds a new job and then we sort out our own place.

At the moment parts one and two are complete.....waiting for number 3 though.

After what Lily has gone through we both agreed that she will need as much stimulation and support from family as she can get. So the decision was pretty much made for us.

As for Lily she is doing well. To look at her you'd never guess what she has been through. Was weighed on Monday and came in at 9lbs 5. She's doing everything that a little monkey should do. And right now we feel very lucky indeed. However, there could be some sort of problem that just hasn't manifested itself yet. Afterall you can't ask a baby to read from a wall chart, add up or walk around a room.

Only time will tell how the meningitis has affected our now 2 monthe old. And it could be a very long time before we know anything.

Hearing test next week and she's not been immunised yet at all.

    Screaming babe must go
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.

Another day where it'll have to be a quick post. DD wouldnt stay in her cot so we ended up giving in and putting her in with us. DH then ended up on the sofa at some point in the night. Because everything was so disturbed we ended up sleeping in until 9am.

Off to toddler group this morning then dropping DD at grandmas and I'm working this afternoon. Still no heating the mans coming tomorrow morning apparently. Its FIL's 65th birthday today so we are all going out for our tea. Not looking forward TBH as I dislike the pub they always go to, the foods not up to much and its a Wacky Warehouse, DD thinks that because there are other kids running around she can instead of eating, she never does this in proper restauarants.

    Gosh I've gone on abit

    Have a good day everyone

Taplady, I am having the same problem at the moment, I have been working for almost 10 yrs, but am no good at getting up early  I start work at 7:30am and have to leave the house at 6:45, so get up around 6:15am every day. Each night I lie in bed and things don't stop whirring round my mind, so it takes me ages to get to sleep. I also get awful dark circles under my eyes which make me look a lot worse that I actually feel.
I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago and he said I must get into a routine of going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time every day. I also have a cup of cammomile tea and some herbal sleeping tablets about half an hour before I go to bed to help me relax.
The thing I found that helped most of all was Paul McKenna's 'I can make you thin' CD. It didn't help me lose any weight, but it made me so relaxed that I always fell alseep within about 10 minutes of putting it on  I've lost the CD, but have ordered another one from Ebay, so will let you know if it works.
The only other thing I'd say is tell your son to get his bag, clothes and everything he needs for work the next day already laid out, so he doesn't need to get up any earlier than possible to organise himself. Good luck and I hope he gets his sleeping pattern back to normal soon, I know what a vicious circle it can get you in.

thanks! actually I have the cd and gave it him last night as it always works for me!;) but he didn't like it! the trouble is he's a typical teenager and thinks his parents know nothing:rolleyes: so getting him to take some advice is not easy! He seems to think that the doctor will be able to solve all his problems whichof course she wont:rolleyes:

I will try the lavender oil idea when I can get to the shops to get some so thanks for that twink!:T

(((((((((((((((huge huggles rchddap))))))))))))))))) I wish nothing but the very best for you and baby Lily.

Taplady, DH suffered from this problem when he started shifts. He just took Nytol tablets and listened to book tapes. It definitely helped.

Penpen congrats on the new baby :)

Nothing much doing here as I have DD home sick from school, nothing major just a very nasty cough and cold that DH was very worried about, she's now dressed as a ballerina and is dancing in front of a full length mirror.

Flying is nearly finished so I may try and do something constructive today :)

    Morning all :hello:

Can't stop long, back on my training course at 10.

rchddap1it's so good to hear from you. I was praying for you, OH and Lily last night and I can't tell you how pleased I am that she is on the mend.

Hugs to anybody else feeling low or under the weather.

Horrible weather this morning. I started off walking to work as the rain wasn't too bad, but had to give up and get on the bus once it started coming down like stair rods

Yesterday evening I got set up on Nationwide online banking (for my mortgage) and added it to my Egg Money Manager portfolio. Am rethinking New Year's Resolution no.3 as overpayments don't look like the best option at the moment. It will be more interest efficient to save in a high interest account (LTSB Monthly Saver is at 8% so 6.4% after tax, still beats my mortgage rate by far!)

Need to make a shopping list and go to Tesco or Morrisons this evening as I am out of lots of things.

Must be off, hope to be back later

    Rzl xx

  • Good morning everyone

We had a 30 min lie-in this morning and travelled to work by train instead of our usual express bus. The bed is just too lovely and warm on a cold morning!

Our upstairs TV, a £100 Bush, went kaput a couple of nights ago. It is still under warranty, just, so we will be returning it to Tesco. I have created a thread in Techie Stuff asking MSErs for advice.

    Have a good day
    :)
