    Morning all,

Well, don't know whats going on here but my tooth started to hurt on Monday so had to go to the dentist yesturday as was getting really bad pain. Turns out I've got an infection. DH had to come home from work to take DD for her appointment leaving me druged up and trying to breath through the pain. God it really hurt! A lot better this morning, pain bearable but I look like a chipmonk with the swelling:eek: Think I must be a bit run down so after dropping off DD at school (with scarf rapped around face as not to frighten the kids)I will be taking it easy and just potter about, maybe do a bit of knitting and browse the new gardening board:D

Hugs to all & congrats on the new baby Penny:beer:

  • Morning to all.

Taplady - I think it just takes time for them to relax into the whole work thing. My son suffered badly for the first 2 years after leaving school. He had a job then couldn't cope, was given anti depressants and sleeping pills but in the end had to give up the job and go to college! At the end of college he got an apprenticeship and now gets up at about 6.15am to start a 7 to do an hours overtime!!! Never thought I would see the day. He has been doing it for over a year now and I still think that anyday he will stop going in!!! He suffered from a lot of virus's the first year and was under the weather. I think it is probably all part of the process. Keep an eye on him but think of it as the next phase and it is taking time to get used to. My older DD also had a lot of virus's and tired ness at the start of her first job too and she had been a college for 2 years.

Well I have had the most awful 24 hours. OH came home at lunch time yesterday - we had been bickering by phone all morning. He said he had issues to talk about. I honestly could not see what the problems are. They were listed as:

    1. I control the money and he wants to
    2. I have problems with his kids (true but with reason)
    3. I sleep alot and use my depression as a weapon
    4. He does not like the way I load the dishwasher
    5. He does not like the way the toilet rolls on the holder
    6. If he makes himself available at the weekend then we should do stuff to gether and not get on with the housework etc.

So I have arranged to hand over all finances to him and his kids are coming at the weekend ( they already were). I will speak to the doc and see if I can change my meds. I will try and do better with the dishwasher, ditto the loo roll. If he wants to go out on his own at the weekends then fine I will let him while I stay home and do the chores.

So I am more depressed than before and he is going to take tomorrow off work unpaid so that we can talk about stuff - we have a large tax bill that we do not have the money for so time off unpaid seems good. Still I am not in charge of the finances any more!

Sorry about the rant but do not have any one else to turn to.

Morning everyone, wish every poorly person well today.

Bad start to my day. Should have been off to Cheshire this morning (from the South Coast!). Car initially wouldn't spark and then when it did start, it was smoking badly. Think OH has over-filled with oil! Its a real pain as I should be contributing to a workshop today which was organised ages ago!

Hope everyone else's day goes better.

Hi taplady. I suffer problems with sleep too. Ensure DS is drinking plenty of water. I suggest DS takes a warm bath, with some nice music, then bed with a hot water bottle. Make sure heating isn't too high in bedroom - even open window for a while before bedtime to ensure there is plenty of oxygen in the room. Get DS to lay on back in bed, with hands placed at side or on top of chest and concentrate on his breathing - breathing slowly as much as possible, then releasing air as slowly as possible, imagining stress is draining away with every breath. Gradually settle breathing into comfortable pattern but concentrate on breathing to settle thoughts.

This is a relaxation technique that I have been using for some time. Sometimes, I have to visualise being somewhere nice - like on a beach, or floating in a warm pool of water, etc but usually, the act of concentrating wholly on breathing slows down the brain patterns and helps me go off to sleep.

    Good luck!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    Good Morning All -

    Jellycat ((((hugs))))

Me too had a rough night's sleep, the security light over the back from us was on again, instead of it being on all night (as it usually is) it kept going off, I would settle down again and then the blasted thing was on!
Sorry - but its been going on far to long, I must knock on their door before I go to work! Plus with pmt, im not in the best of moods this morning!

Anyway, slightly running late this morning, so best be off and get showered.
    Have a nice day all
Take care & love as usual

    Morning all!

Had a bit of a bad evening with DS1 last night, he's really struggling with early mornings for work(has to get up 6.30) and is in a bit of a state. Was in tears last night.he went to the doc last Saturday who gave him 5 sleeping tablets to get his sleeping back on track(he cant get to sleep) but they didn't work and made him feel dizzy.I just dont know what to do with him.Have just popped him down for the bus but he looks awful and I'll probably spend all day worrying about him. He's going back to the docs (different one) tomorrow or Friday to see what they suggest.
Work has seemed such a shock to him with the much longer day than school - he's out for almost 12 hours a day with travelling but he does love his job thankfully, he's also worried because the bus home is a bit irregular and we've had to fetch him(20 miles) a few times.QUOTE]

Taplady, I am having the same problem at the moment, I have been working for almost 10 yrs, but am no good at getting up early  I start work at 7:30am and have to leave the house at 6:45, so get up around 6:15am every day. Each night I lie in bed and things don't stop whirring round my mind, so it takes me ages to get to sleep. I also get awful dark circles under my eyes which make me look a lot worse that I actually feel.
I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago and he said I must get into a routine of going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time every day. I also have a cup of cammomile tea and some herbal sleeping tablets about half an hour before I go to bed to help me relax.
The thing I found that helped most of all was Paul McKenna's 'I can make you thin' CD. It didn't help me lose any weight, but it made me so relaxed that I always fell alseep within about 10 minutes of putting it on  I've lost the CD, but have ordered another one from Ebay, so will let you know if it works.
The only other thing I'd say is tell your son to get his bag, clothes and everything he needs for work the next day already laid out, so he doesn't need to get up any earlier than possible to organise himself. Good luck and I hope he gets his sleeping pattern back to normal soon, I know what a vicious circle it can get you in.

    Good morning everyone!

Well gosh, it's so grotty out there today!! Yuck!

I've got to call the job centre at 9am... I'm meant to be having an appointment there at 10am but have some supply for the next 2 days so it will be a wasted journey I think!

What else will I be doing today? Well, I need to bulk freeze some soup that I have in the fridge-need to make some room for that in the freezer for that! Have a bag of salad that is on its way to wilting, so am going to make a soup with it (with water, stock cube, soy sauce and noodles). Also will be making meatballs for dinner tonight, yum!

I have the Doctors this afternoon and also need to get out to the village to the post office and bank... might pop to Asda and Lidl too... Lidl for the dog collar and Asda as I would love to get a new, black, smart coat... I saw one in H&M the other day, reduced to £39.99 (and on bogof) and am so tempted to get that... I guess all that will depend on how much money I have in my bank... all I have left is a grotty pink affair.... so looks like I'll be popping to H&M methinks!! Not quite sure....

((hugs)) to those who need them! x
