I notice that Cotton Traders have fleece trousers http://www.cottontraders.co.uk/fleece-trousers-29+quot-74cm-inside-leg/invt/ac11876/
£16.99 a pair (less Quidco discount!) I wondered if anyone had tried them? OK, not really a fashion statement but handy for in the house during the day when I try to do without the heating!
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

They look like fleecey lined jogging pants, I've had them before and yes they keep you warm. They seem quite expensive though to me. Worth just shopping around. I would expect to pay more like £6?

*Just sorted all the throws on the sofas and chair so they touch the floor so no under couch draughts, put the snuggly blankets over the back of each one and I am boiling hot so they keep you warm. Place looks nice and cosy with the (one working) fire light one.

    i do <3 being prepared :D

  • It's 1.15am and from my last post till now I've been sorting all daughters clothes out!
All her summer stuff is out of the wardrobe and it's now fit for Autumn and Winter.
I'm so chuffed that I can ''see'' everything there so know all I need to buy are socks, wellies and shoes :)

  • As September is here I thought it was time to find this thread & join in winter prep again. This will be our 3rd winter in this house, so really have most things sorted.

Got 2 snow shovels last year, lots of dishwasher salt for the path as well as a bucket full of council issue in the shed! Plenty of de-icer left, will check screen wash and top up the winter bag in the car. I've left it in there all year, but drinks and cereal bars will need to be replaced. I bought a new in car charger from ebay as mine had stopped working, forget how much we rely on mobile phones these days, only a few phone numbers I actually know!!

I have a long, single story hall (link detached house), I bought a pair of curtains from a charity shop last year for £4, lined with fleece blankets and put up with the shower poles from argos, makes such a difference to the temperature in there!

Really this year I just need to check stocks and top up bits that have been used, medicines, freezer stocks, baking stocks, large bottle of water, got them from Aldi last year cant remember how much they were but really not much and they will always get drunk eventually, need to remember to stock up on cat litter & food too.

Will make sure I have some bread flour and yeast in so can always make a loaf of bread if required and either make a batch of soup and freeze or keep frozen veg in to be able to make some once the weather gets really cold.

I got some lovely fleece lined joggers rom matalan, £6, i wear them when Im on call in the hospital at night, comfy and warm but will defiantly pick up another pair.

Looking forward to following eveyones prep and finding new things I never thought I might need!

you tube :) I'm a seasoned crocheter now and I was completely taught via you tube. You can do it! :D It's worth it ;)
  • Ooh, I hadn't thought about matalan - have 1 in town now, so I can get to it & see what's there. I got new smart trousers for work rather grumpily as the uniform has changed from last year when I got some lovely grey fleece trousers from m&s that looked smart enough for preschool... Now we need to have smarter looking black trousers... got them big enough for layers underneath & will keep a pair of the old ones in case I get soaked on the way in. I got 3 long sleeved t shirts in the sale at Mr S for wearing under my polo shirt, & we have fleece jackets again now, thank goodness, as the sweatshirt material ones just were not warm enough.
