Hi, just wanted to let everyone know the cotton traders fur lined boots are half price again. I was given the tip about these last year on this thread and I bought a pair for me and my daughter, best boots we have bought!! We wear them out the back (to do animals) son squeezes his feet into mine and wears them too! Really great value for money, warm and waterproof and mine are in fab condition still. They have been fab with all this rain and wintery weather.
Apologies if I am repeating info, I just dont want newbies to miss out. Thankyou for all who post tips, I know that the investments I made from this thread can still be used year after yearLife happens when you are busy making other plans

This won't be for everyone, but if anyone has a Costco card, they have 10 packs of 4 Andrex Velvet loo roll for £10.79, saving over £5.A smile costs little but creates much0

Kirsty thanks ever so much for this. I take a 5 1/2 (or 39 in Euro size) but they only do whole sizes Do they come up big or would I be better off going for a size 6? If I could squeeze into a 5 then my DD could use them as well but I know what her reaction would be if I bought her a pair. I'm sure she'd much rather nick them from me when she realises it's not nice walking to school in wellies in the snow
ETA just read the reviews and I've probably answered my own question. Apparently they come up bigIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

Hi! You are v welcome, well worth it! U can send them back if they dont fit, with no probs, I am a 6 and ordered a 6 mine fit fine, with socks (or not if I am in a rush to run out and grab in washing!) The fur lining is brill, all the way down, I had mine on yesterday and it dried up in the afternoon, had to kick them off my feet were boiling!!
DD is a 3 and hers fit fine too. I have just ordered a 5 for my mum for christmas, she is a 4.5,,she can wear thick socks, if they are a little big.
I just read reviews had never read them before! I am not sure when these reviews are from, recent or old but I know the styles vary, mine are the ones pictured, in black, mine are defo not too big, nor my daughters. As I said u can return themLife happens when you are busy making other plans

Well I expected to have to try and hunt this thread out being that its the middle of summer - well apparently! Im not enitrely sure that Wales gets much summer - just the odd glimpse of sun behind rain clouds but ah well - c'est la vie.
Well I am waiting to get babes birthday out of the way - can you believe it - saturday the 14th she will be 2 years old already! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
and then I will be knuckling down with the weather conditioning.
I have somewhat started. I brought a pair of primark PJs the other day and a top that has the bra build in to see how they were being that I have never owned a pair and didnt want to buy loads incase they were uncomfortable - but I am in love with them - the top was £5 and the bottoms were £5. I was a loyal £6 ethol austin PJ wearer but I live in my PJs practically so thought Id treat myself to a thinner summer pair but they are lovely - I will definitely be going back for more.
Ben, Holly and Owen all have a onesie each although Owen refuses to wear his so I may take that as mine this winter
Just had a relatively nice letter from Swalec too
My gas DD has gone down by £10 and is now £49.00
and my electric DD has gone down by £20 so is now £40
(first year in a new house and we had debt carried over from old payment meters in flats!)
so if I keep paying that then by the time the next bill comes in in October I will be owing £10 to the gas, and will be £47 in credit with the electric. :T would rather it be the other way round but oh well.........least we seem to be getting there and this year I know the houses downfalls and we will be prepared.
So here it is - my TO DO list
House
Upstairs
* after 1 year there is still no curtains on our bedroom windows (theres nets though!) so this needs doing firstly
* we have no carpet on half the stairs so this might need doing even if its a temporary covering.
* a curtain or thicker covering for the hallway window
(I already have fleeces for the beds etc)
Downstairs
* door curtain for front door
* door curtain for back door
* rug for living room
* crate for the dog so he can go in and really snuggle down
* rug for kitchen
CLOTHES
* Pjs for me, ben, holly and Owen
* Waterproof coat for me and Ben
* Waterproof onesie for Holly (for school runs)
* wellies or walking boots for me
* waterproof trousers for Ben
* Jumper / Jacket for JRT pooch - hes 11 this year and starting to feel the cold
* cardi/hoody for me (I own currently 1)
I also have a medicine cabinet list, an emergency box list (I have lots of candles as boyfriend makes them!and torches everywhere) but I will sit down and go through them all soon and make a start on things I need
Hope your all wellTime to find me again0 -

They look lovely - especially in tan
ALSO to anyone whos OH or themselves want a flask to take soup/stew etc to work in - B&M are selling a pot thermos for £4.99 at the minute that is ideal - it hold a generous portion I would say and I think (if I remember rightly) it keeps the food warm for 6-8hours if left closed.Time to find me again0 -
