If we get through this winter without seeing any snow I'll be one very happy bunny! We haven't even had any ice this year, and I made especially sure that we had de-icer in. I suppose it works in the same way as putting your washing out, but in reverse - put your washing out and it will rain, buy de-icer and there won't be any ice.0 -

Ditto, bought lots of de-icer at Poundland after being caught out the year before. ah well, its worth it not to have snow, although my children wouldn't agree!0 -

I am in for soooooooooooooooo much flack from my boss if we don't get snow or iceI was nagging at him to prepare a car kit, house stuff, salt, shovel etc since last Sept
He said he is waiting until the threat of a proper winter is definately passed until he rips the *iss out of me
Ahhhhhhhhhhh well..... As I said to him, "if you take an umbrella it will not rain" :rotfl:
I can cope with some flack and would rather be prepared than not.... He had to spend a night at a local hotel last year as he didn't prepare/anticipate the snow0 -
we're 8 degrees also today .............but raining of course!!! very mild though

I'm always fascinated by people down south who get fabulous summers that go on for ever and have Roman remains in their gardens !
I so envy you that!
I live high and remote and I have calor gas for cooking and a coal stove for heating, because we get frequent powercuts. I have the said airer and hang clothes onnit in front of the fire overnight.
Swap you a 5 ft snowdrift for a Roman cemetary? :rotfl:
Do you know what Mardy, I wish it would snow, now im not the sort of person that would usually want snow, but the last couple of weeks I keeping wanting some, it almost feel like a craving....:eek:.....Its just too dam mild at this time of year for me, I like to rug up when I go out to feed the hens, but I just seem to get too hot and have to keep taking my coat off.............................Even of a night when in bed I have to keep throwing my half of the duvet on top of hubby, and thats with thelittle and big window open........Ive got cold crisp white sheets anyone else would go to bed with layers on, but ive always been like that when I sleep, it too dam hot, and this is winter , what am I going to be like in the summer nights to sleep..................:eek:Yet during the day I like the house at 21 degrees........Body clock is shot a way....me thinks .:D0 -
Lovely bright sunny day here. DH and I took a car trip to Helensburgh (about 35 miles away) Saw the remains of the recent storms all along the road with the occasional tree down and damage to fences and properties.
The town's main street had been flooded and there was the odd sandbag next to shops. Thought I was losing my marbles when I saw 2 swans walking up the pavement toward us!!!0 -

I was also hoping for snow, kids love it
Been meter watching, hawk style, seems to be lower so far so I'm still waiting to find the culprit, I wonder if it's DSs showers as they've used the pool one Saturday and Monday hmm
Poohbear I missed the news that your going to be a Grandma, congratulations! I've also been intrigued by those clothing dryer things
Got myself some more sofa blankets and one of those snuggies a few days ago which I like using. Snow forecasted for here and pressure areas look set to shift so I think I'll dump that rock salt into my storage garage until next year! One day I might be more organised...........
