  • Hiya Folks! :hello:

Have been lurking for months and have finally decided it's time to say hello!

Thanks for all of the wonderful advice, I've been soo prepared for snow this year, maybe it'll eventually appear. Either way it's nice to feel so prepared/confident and not feel like a total loony preparing for the worst weather!

Kittie - just wondering how's things looking weatherwise for little old Norn Irn over the comming weeks?

Kittie, thanks for the heads up! I may be in Scotland, but will try to make sure to keep an eye on things.

Looks like it's settled down quite a bit here. Hopefully no more sleepless nights for me.

Thank goodness the weather seems to have settled for now. I'm hoping this means that they can fix the problem that have seems to have prevented normal train services from running to the town where I work - hasn't been resolved since Tuesday! - but it seems to be quite vulnerable to any kind of extreme weather.

Just in case of major disruptions and delays to my commute, I've spent the morning adding books to my Kindle. I remembered to also add The Takeaway Secret (as mentioned elsewhere it is 99p for now). I don't usually have the time to read - unless directly related to my job - once I'm back at work, but it's best to be prepared. Travelling by bus can mean it takes three times as long.

Weather calmed here also, although lots of folks still without power for a third day (not us, luckily). Youngest fisherman son out today for the first time since before christmas - he fishes out towards the corryvreken. Fingers crossed for some settled weather so he can earn some money safely!

Stopped raining finally for a couple of hours this morning but back on again now

A lovely day, managed to get the washing out, it hasn't dried much but at least it's been out. It was a lovely walk to school and back, cold but dry with very little wind. Hoping for a calmer weather.

Its been like spring here today - blue skys, fairly mild and sun out. No wind - such a difference from yesterday. Went for a very very long walk and now feet ache so having a sit down before i sort kids dinner. Has turned chilli now but nothing compared to recently :)

Remember when we were moaning about the mild weather and how unseasonal it was? I for one am very pleased to have it back (although it is 'breezy' today) Going to get a batch of what I call 'dark heavies' (jeans etc) on the line, hopefully they'll dry quickly.:)
Just a small niggle... does anyone else get a bit miffed when you answer a specific question for someone on other threads and they don't bother to thank or acknowledge that they've read it? (not here, you are all lovely:)) It's just good manners...:(
