Not seen a soul since last Friday apart from the postie and an evil neighbour yesterday who had a go at me regarding rubbish bins,I try to do my bit in rubbish collection and he doesn't believe in recycling! Today it's blowing a gale, yet again and a lot of the recycled rubbish is all over the road, saw the chap opposite going down the road trying to capture papers with a rake! The bins I put out have blown over and plastic bottles everywhere! Don't know why I bother really, maybe I worry too much? My cats don't like being kept in,trouble is I live in a flat and they have to go down the stairs to get out,it also means I have to go up and down to see if the door is open, exercise for me I guess!
I think the chap opposite me has picked all my rubbish up! I did attempt it myself but it's on a grassy slope and I nearly fell over! I hate this windy weather,I hate snow as well by the way,I have stocked up a bit though on food and loo rolls,I have a car but I hate driving in bad weather. Sorry for my misery mood.

Our daffs sprouted a few weeks ago - no flowers yet though, but the plants are about a foot or so high.0 -

Well, it sounds to me like he is a miserable so and so who hasn't got anything better to do than have a go at someone else to elevate what his believes as being his own self importance. It is a huge shame that you bore the brunt of his nastiness. It is easier said than done to 'rise above it' when someone has shown such vitriol towards you but give it a few days and it will subside. Best thing to do is make no eye contact or even listen to his rantings in future, just simply walk away and leave him standing there looking like a muppet!
A very cold wind today, ideal clothes drying weather!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Wouldnt fancy hanging clothes out in this, they'd be in Norway in half an hour! Hellish winds yet again. Getting tiresome. Pitch dark at 4pm.0

Lashing rain and winds here - stocked up on everything - except alcohol and now panicking in case I run out- loo roll or tins of tomatoes just isn't the same!!!Treat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0

It's so nice to not have to go outside on a day like today :j I've stayed in and used up my share of the turkey leftovers (turkey and cranberry melts, yum) and tea, tea and more tea!0

I must have been really lucky today as we've had a lovely sunny day. Very windy but lovely otherwise. I had a brisk walk along the beach ( a budget version of dermabrasion, I reckon!) and since I was well wrapped up and able to keep upright against the wind I was fine.
I like to think that there'll be days when it's really awful weather and I won't be able to get out so try to get out if I possibly can (and I'm saving on heating as it feels warmer when I get home even if it's been switched off!)
I know that some of you can't manage to get out but if you can it's a real tonic!
ShirleyMarye please don't feel lonely when we are all here to talk to...:grouphug:
Kittie I know what you mean abut Christmas but this quote tickled me when I read it recently: A lovely thing about Christmas is that it's compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together."
~ Garrison Keillor (1942-), American author. 'Exiles,' Leaving Home (1987).
Sorry if I've gone on a bit but trying to be cheerful!:o:)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Here its pouring and very, very windy. Out of the wind the temp isn't to bad, but the wind is freezing. Got to get myself moving to have a shower as have to go out and drop presents off at daughters ( never got there over Christmas as hubby wasn't feeling to well after being at workgo) as they are off tomorrow for two weeks in the sun, and although presents for DGD12 are all mainly Bella ( from Twilight) items I knitted for her ( she is mad about the series and wants to be Bella) so no use while away I think she will need them when she comes back to keep warm. Then pop to Lidl as want some things from there and its past daughters so can do both things as both same direction. Lidl have some nice winter things although at moment cannot remember what on special today.
Stay warm and for those like me who have rain stay dry.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Snowing lightly and cold here today-- 0C. Had a couple of inches of snow yesterday-- our first real accumulation of the season. Expecting my family, mother, sister, brother and sister-in-law for dinner tonight to celebrate my brother's 50th b'day in a few days. They live in another state, so will not be here on the actual day.
Planning on marinated pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and a vegetable-- green beans probably, plus rolls with butter. My mother is bringing my brother's favoite dessert-- graham cracker pudding with a hard sauce.
Will spend most of the day getting the house presentable-- have to vacuum daily with 2 hairy dogs! Mop up the kitchen floor, dust, etc. May have to make a quick trip to the grocery store too.0
