Preparing for winter III

Merry christmas all, I'm wrapped up in dressing gown and slippers without heating on. All drafts excluded- this thread helped get me ready! I'm almost looking forward to the gas bill! (ALMOST!)

Quite mild here, so heating on at minimum. Have hats, gloves, scarves, everything ready to hand but the weather isn't playing ball. :rotfl:

Happy Christmas everyone! my 10 year old daughter has put herself to bed already at just past 8pm tonight, methinks she's in a hurry for something :rotfl:

i've had a shower and i am sitting here in just my dressing gown, no slippers or anything and i'm quite comfortable. i only had the one heater on last night on medium and tonight i'm turning them both off as we'll have the oven on all day tomorrow...

my daughter is bitterly disappointed we won't be getting the snow she'd hoped for but i too am looking forward to lower heating bills!

we got all the presents finished wrapped last night and today has been snacky meals of gammon sandwiches from the gammon i cooked overnight last night in my slow cooker soaked in the remaining juice from a large jar of maraschino cherries (yes, it IS to die for!) and cheese, chutney, biscuits and fruit etc, plus some homemade sausage rolls, it's been lovely just nibbling as we get hungry and we've been playing games and working our way through the harry potter box set i bought recently, all in all a lovely relaxed day.i hope everyone is having a nice relaxed evening like i am

Merry Christmas to one and all and may Christmas miracles come to all those in need of them.

Here its so mild out there, I remembered I had not put my lights round my tree ( a potted 12in Christmas tree I planted years ago and now about 9ft tall) never had lights on it but this year managed to buy a nice long string that are solar powered. I went out in pjs - vest top/3/4 trousers and cotton - and apart from everything soaking, yes rained again for good part of evening - its so mild out there if feels more like a May evening than Christmas Eve - so unless weather suddenly takes a nose dive we are more likely to need sun tan rather than snow shoes tomorrow

Just popping in to say thoughts for all those up in the far north being battered by the strong winds and I hope it did not spoil your day. Stay warm, safe and on your feet ( from the wind not the wine)

Just popping in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We had a lovely low stress day here. Received many lovely gifts and had a fine meal as well. To Mom's tomorrow to see my brother and his family. Weather has been quite good for us-- only a dusting of snow a few times and warm for this area.

Is anybody else annoyed at the totally wrong forecasts we got? All about the worst winter yet and snow from late Oct ? I mean I'm not moaning that we didnt get it early -because this way winter seems shorter - but they did all get it wrong!
