It's been quiet on here today!

As usual with all winter breaks from work, something or other has knocked me for six. I'm never quite sure if I'm actually ill or it's just exhaustion but, had it not been for some friends dropping by, I'd not have got out of bed at all. Thank goodness for winter preparations, is all I can say. I could call on my frozen baguettes (now added to my next internet order) and some of the extra batches I'd filled the freezer with.

Hopefully, I'll be fit to finish the Christmas food shopping tomorrow and will try to get in there early to avoid the worst of the frenzy.

My budget has completely gone out of the window, it has to be said, and I'm going to have to be strict with myself in the New Year.

And from me too..... always seems worse feeling "yukky" at this time of year.

In case I'm not back - have a fantastic Christmas everyone:D this thread has been so inspiring and helped me focus on things at the right time so I can now relax a bit and not worry about being snowed in / drafts / power cuts etc.

~Unusually mild - ain't it? Blue sky and yellow orb here.
Get well soon rainydays - sounds like a very nasty thing indeed.

:) confuzzled. It's blowing a gale here, so windy and rainy and not got light yet! Yesterday was lovely so I shouldn't complain. Hope everyone else is fine.

Huge storm hit us a short while ago - took mine and neighbours bins off with it up the road  So glad mine was empty!!! :D

Wish I had prepped the garden better... Am worried now about things blowing around... like chairs and tables  Still, never mind :D

Looking at the forecast, its going to be getting worse in the next few hours, not better and some people are reporting tornados near me  Not good when I have to collect the DDs from a nearby village which is densely populated with very tall, scary, swaying trees  Might call Mum and ask if they can stay... Answer will almost certainly be NO in which case, if I get hit by a falling tree, she will feel very bad :D
  • I don't know what's happened! I've been HOT today! My sitting room was 17 degrees with no heating on
SInce we had a day of snow the temperature has risen... i'm expecting me daffodils to pop up anyday soon....

Just wanted to say thank you for all your 'get well' messages they are appreciated.

I rang the GP this morning and left a message for her to call me back, which she kindly did. I did not want to go to the surgery itself or even go to the hospital either as these are the last places where the staff would want anybody who has this to be. I still have it, but to a lesser degree but the nauseaus feeling comes and goes and to be really brutally honest the loo was a very dark shade of green, which alarmed me massively hence the telephone call to the GP. She assured me all was okay and that it would work it's way through. She said some people bounce it off in 48 hours some take a little longer. I stocked up on some immodium, but to be truthful I just don't feel like eating. I might have say a slice of toast, have four or so bites of it and just feel that I do not want to eat the rest - the dogs have done well out me recently :o. I have to say though I have lost 5lb in weight so far! It's an extreme form of losing weight and not one I would recommend.

I have cleaned the house through today and bleached the kitchen and bathroom areas heavily. I also have bought from Boots some hand gel for sanitisation purposes. It kills bacteria but sure not about the viruses - I suspect not! Nevertheless I am prepared to gve it a try to prevent me passing anything on.
