  • Rainydays sending more healing thoughts your way.

Here its been pouring most of the day, then it stopped suddenly and as my fruit bushes arrived I took them down the garden to put in greenhouse to be planted when I have more energy and I couldn't get over how warm it was, I went out in short sleeves and was warm enough. Now wind has got up and its getting stronger and stronger and it has a chill to it. Have bedroom window open but curtains are moving more and more so might have to shut it soon. A lot of bulbs I put in front garden at end of September for next spring have started sending shoots up, its seems more likely to have a 'blooming' Christmas than a white one.

Stay safe everyone and fuddle I hope you went and came back safely with DDs.

    Hugs

It is really mild here today, such a difference to last year! Still glad that I have all the things in place should it turn grim in the next few months.

I intend this Friday on the massive house clean that each door handle and all the kitchen and bathrooms will be washed down with a bleach solution. I am not fond of bleach but in the fight against bugs like this, it is a powerful weapon.

It's probably too late to say so now being as it's early Saturday morning, but don't forget the bannister and (very carefully, obviously, because of the electricity) the light switches.

Don't knock yourself out doing all this cleaning though. Take it steady. Hope you're starting to feel a lot better now.

I rang the GP this morning and left a message for her to call me back, which she kindly did. I did not want to go to the surgery itself or even go to the hospital either as these are the last places where the staff would want anybody who has this to be.

Rainy Days - hope you are feeling better today. Just wanted to say thank you for the above - last Christmas a friend visited me after going to the doctor. He picked up norovirus there and passed it to me - deep joy :(

As we look forward to the warmest Christmas day in over 100 years, I hope you all feel as secure as I do in the knowledge that we are ahead of the game. May your Christmas be warm and tasty and filled with happiness.

  • Wishing you all a very merry Christmas.

A big thank you to all of you. I've been so well prepared this year, thanks to the spirit of this thread. Running around like a headless chicken has been kept to a minimum - I can't break the habit of a lifetime in one go :o I'm glad to be going in to the new year knowing that my freezer is full and I'm all stocked up because, for me, it's not just about being prepared for bad weather, it's about convenience at an absolutely mad, deadline-filled time of year.

Rainy, I hope that you're feeling better.
