Tryingtobethrifty- have you got snow ? the neighbour jsut got back from Pathhead and they have none! (Pathhead is just 10 miles up the road, but a lot lower down than me). Not a snowflake to be seen there - and its POURING down here really heavy again.

NO! We had a bit of a blizzard at school drop off time and then nothing just really icy. I saw all the cars coming up the A7 with about 4 inches on them but only a few centimeters here. We really must just be on the edge of it and not getting it . I'm a bit annoyed as I want to try the snow tyres out in deep snow. Maybe I'll drive down that way later :rotfl:

After this mornings pitiful attempt at snow, we now have brilliant sunshine and all the snow on my car has melted :rotfl:

I think I will call this a practise run, and drain that outdoor tap

Can't wait for saturday evening when I finish work for Xmas :j and ramp up the preps, inc getting that darned curtain back up, somehow.

I just heard it's about 2 feet down there, is that true? We were at the Mayshade Centre today and the hailstorm was amazing but there was no snow anywhere past Gorebridge. The Borthwick Road is far too scary to do in this weather!

When dh is back tom we'll maybe grab sledges and head down that way - watch out for us shooting past your window!

  • We have had a sprinkling of snow in Helensburgh,it's on the roofs and on the gardens all round me and a layer on my car but roads and pavements are clear. It's 3 degrees outside but I am lovely and warm in my little flat in short sleeves! Hope we don't get any more as going out tomorrow,I am a soft southerner and absolutely hate snow!

*very green Fru signs out to go sulk about our serious lack of snow*

    :(
  • Its so thick its actually sticking here, just taken some photos will get them uploaded and post the link, its white everywhere now and met office said we were only going to get rain today, so of course council not gritted, well they never do, but hubby said they hadn't done the city either, so guess they will be running round like headless chickens now. Its over an inch thick already which is very heavy for us and still falling, looks so lovely out, but glad I am not going out today, but do plan to go out tomorrow - got to buy some yarn to knit 'bellas mittens for DGD12 as she wants them the same colour but online cannot be sure of the colours so nearest wool shop in next town so will go there as at least can see the true colour of the yarn. Got yarn of every colour in but typically not the ones I needed - she wanted a black hat so had to buy black wool and these mittens.

Even though sky still so grey and heavy its certainly a lot brighter out now with the snow.
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
