Preparing for winter III

We had a good dusting which settled but is wet and will probably go quickly. I haven't yet done any winter prep but will do it over the weekend if my face ache improves (sore after minor surgery!) I will be draughtproofing patio doors and upstairs single glazing is first on the list. I've ordered a gas camping stove and some butane cannisters which I now need for any power cuts because I've got rid of my gas cooker.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Ooh,er - we had rain forecast for most of today and that's what we've had until about 5 minutes ago when it turned to snow. Shouldn't settle as the ground is already wet and it's small snow not big fat flakes, but there's a lot of it! I'm about 15 miles from the east coast in East Anglia. Hubby who sleeps in the buff told me last night that the sheet from Lidl was the best even better than the flannelette ones I give him to put on his bed, he said with his 13.5tog duvet and that sheet he feels even on the coldest night he will be snug. I found it snug as well, had bedroom window open all night - had closed it night before but woke up feeling house was so stuffy as heat comes on at 5am for hubby getting up (only 18).
Not sure what tog rating my duvet is as its a Climarelle coo suprelle fresh duvet - big name what it is, is one that on one side there are micro capsules that take heat from your body when you get hot and release the heat when you get cold, I bought that, the mattress protector and pillows when we had the money in the summer and although I can still get hot, it has made a big difference to me, I still had to have fan on and did through duvet off so did wonder it it was working, but put old duvet and mattress protector on and boy was I hot, so does work, but duvet doesn't have a tog rating but as yet its warm enough and its so light and comfortable, but is expensive but plus is everything can be washed in washing machine which is great with dogs climbing into bed with me so I wash everything every one - two weeks and dry it on low heat in tumble dryer - summer hubby puts it on line for me.
Hubby called me this morning while out to say he had been driving through snow showers ( lucky thing) but none have come here yet and he was only 10 miles away, he says alternating between snow and rain so snow not sticking. So if wind can just blow it 10 miles to West I will be happy, although a lot of my neighbours are elderly and they will not be amused.
I have not as yet put my emergency bits in the box I bought so candles, matches, torches etc still all over the place, I know exactly where they are as they have lived in their places for ages, but do want to put them together as although I know where they are hubby never remembers.
The lidl light again did its magic, although alarm had been going off 10 mins before i woke today ( where as yesterday woke up 10 mins before alarm due to the light) but its great waking up to alarm and not feeling so drugged that all I can do is reach over switch it off and fall asleep again, I am awake properly. I wonder if son if finding it as helpful, gave it to him although his Christmas present as felt he needs it so might as well start using it now.
Stay warm and safe everyone, easy to say I know but not so easy to do if you have to go out.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Back on again, heavy snow
Am so jealous, but I know wrong to wish for it as people have to go out to work, like hubby, not fun for him driving round in it, and so many elderly by me not able to get out as just down the road there are few retirement apartments, one private and one Housing Assoc.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Bit disappointing tbh0 -
And there was me all pleased with seeing fat fluffy snow flakes for 10 min this morning.
