Chuff all in Wilts! I dont know why I bother with the weather bods. They talk toss most of the time.
Can't believe you have had some Greebee. It is a bit parky but that's it.
Thanks for the links for the fridge/freezers. The hotpoint is the kind of thing I am after.0 -
Oh that looks so lovely, nice if you don't have to go anywhere, am so jealous.
Here its so grey, never has got light properly. The clouds look as if they are sitting on the roofs of the houses.
Can tell its cold outside as even with thermostat at 18 as it has been for ages house feels chilly, and we have cavity wall insulation so less heat should be escaping but have wondered past couple of years if maybe it needs topping up, as we had it done by BG about 17 years ago and not sure if it disintegrates . Not putting it up, house gets to stuffy but have closed bedroom window, back door is closed so dogs have to ask me to let them out - must be getting wimpy, as till last year except for really the coldest day we kept the door open all the time, but I feel to cold to do that now. Its amazing how much heat the lights give as sitting here in bed with two lights facing me that are on and nice and snug but when I get out of bed it feels so chilly, radiator in here only on frost protection its makes room to stuffy if its on, and really a waste of heat as I just sit with duvet on me. Its 1c outside and not frost at moment.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

thanks for sharing your photos mardatha, i'll have to enjoy the snow vicariously through you for now!
it's 2C with a real feel of -3C but the room is 18.5C (finally turned down the storage heaters as the storm seemed to have missed us) and we had a hard frost again last night.
the roads also have enough ice on them that i can see it from my desk which is a fair way from the window, i'm guessing around a half inch to inch of ice. my daughter keeps telling me it's snow, almost insisting but since there is no snow on the rooves or grass i know it's just ice, mind you i finally gave in and agreed with her to keep her happy :rotfl:
thankfully the weather is looking good for our trip for the christmas village in edinburgh on the 19th and 20th, we're both fit to burst for going, we enjoy it so much every year.
stay warm and safe everyone!0 -
The snow is really coming down now here in Cheshire! It's still quite wet but coming down enough to stick for the time being.
It's 12C in my dining room where I sit with my computer... brrr. I'm covered in fleeces and have a hot water bottle but I think I will have to put the halogen heater on for a bit.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

There was snow when I got up this morning, just a light sprinkling. Now mostly all gone bar the fells, which look glorious with their white caps of snow. Time to get out the warm boots for the dog walk.Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490

So did you not get the big storm they were going on about ? We've had two more heavy showers since we took the pics, everytime he goes out to clear the car it comes on again0

Tryingtobethrifty- have you got snow ? the neighbour jsut got back from Pathhead and they have none! (Pathhead is just 10 miles up the road, but a lot lower down than me). Not a snowflake to be seen there - and its POURING down here really heavy again.0

well we actually have the white stuff coming down quite fast, thick fat flakes but to wet to stick much sadly but temp has gone down to zero so would better if they did stick as going to turn to ice otherwise. My old guy, Tyson, went out just as it started and mooched around the back then came in totally white. Its funny he and the other dogs hate the rain but snow has never bothered them - maybe as we don't get much of it they have not got fed up with it, when it rains and they go to back door to go out they stand there and stare at the rain then come back without as much as putting their nose out. It does look nice watching it from the warmth of my room, have been down and put a big pan of soup on as think hubby will need it to warm up tonight when he gets in ( yesterday and today he has had overtime so doing full days. Snow is sitting on the roofs of cars that are going past but still not sticking on gardens, houses or street.
Jeepers coming down even thicker, hubby just come home for breakfast so will go and make him a nice cuppa to warm him up.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

This reminds me of where I used to live, over 1000ft above sea level. There was what we called a snow-line a few miles from us - above it there would be snow, below it nothing. It was really that distinctive. If you worked in town people wouldn't believe you got snowed in or couldn't dig the car out.
I'm at 39ft above sea level now - just a bit different :rotfl:"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
We've got snow:eek:actually first thing we had a layer of hail that didn't go away and now it's snowing good and proper.
I've just christened the snow shovel, am I glad i listened to you all. I need to be able to get around to the back garden with the dog and a she's had a stroke and I'm wobbly due to disabilities safety is a concern. I've got rid of what was there and put salt down so fingers crossed:). I've got a stock of salt in my 'supplies' and wellies with a wooly lining. I'm feeling pretty smug.
Hope you are all safe, well and warm0
