Abortion/termination advice *UPDATE - SENSITIVE*

It does seem weird you are going the pill route - I thought that was only offered for earlier abortions? And at your stage it would always be surgical.
Anyway, hope it all goes ok for you.0 -

weird or really bloody cruel - Im not sure which !
I will ask tomorrow why that decision has been made and press them a little to see if that can be changed. I was too upset to speak (or think) earlier when they called.0 -

It can be offered up to 15 weeks but is more usual to have a surgical termination at 14 weeks.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

its not necessarily weird or cruel - it may be thats the way its done in your area (its the same in the area where I live, you are not offered a surgical termination after 12 weeks). Try to get some sleep tonight (I know it may be difficult) and take your time with the doctors/nurses tomorrow, ask all the questions you need to then.0 -

Do you really mean to say that surgical termination is not offered after 12 weeks?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

yes. after 12 weeks in my area you can either be referred to the next area, which will do a surgical termination at up to 16 weeks, or you can stay in my area and go through the medical termination - but you have to wait until around 16 weeks to have the medical procedure (this is where I get a bit fuzzy with the information though, as in the case I have experience with, the surgical termination was done at just under 12 weeks).0 -

That seems rather strange as medical terminations are not offered after 15 weeks for reasons I won't go into here. Before 9 weeks medical termination is the preferred option rather than surgical.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can only go on the information that was presented, in my area, just a couple of months ago. I'm not disagreeing with you, just stating the information that was received at the referral clinic here - it was made very clear that a surgical termination after 12 weeks was not possible, unless the next area was suitable, as they would perform a surgical termination up to 16 weeks.0 -
thanks all, I will certainly be asking the question of my doctor this afternoon as to why I cant have a surgical, after reading up a little bit there are a few questions I have now that hadnt occured to me before.
Have a horrible nervous tummy today, be glad when I can stop jumping hurdles and the end is in sight0
