Just got back from M's nieces christening, it was a nice day. Most importantly I managed to stay on plan in the restaurant, very chuffed with myself! Lol I really do usually have zero self-control when I eat out!
Hope you're all having a good one!

Morning all!
Just a very quick one between meetings.
Spoke to the agency this morning, they've had very positive feedback about me and just said that they want me to come in one last time to meet the Finance Director. Unofficially they've told me I'm the last person in the process but this may or may not be true.
Then I spoke to S at the company and he just explained the FD is new in the business and wants to be involved in the recruitment of the role which is why they've added an extra meeting into the process.
So i'm going in at 7:30am Weds morning, I will try and prep at a higher level and make sure I can show that I can work well at his level of thinking and hopefully I can impress him too.
Goodness my nerves are in tatters! Feeling good about it all and will look forward to Wednesday, so.... a bit more of fingers crossed and hopefully some good news towards the end of the week..
Watch this space!

That's all so positive. I've been wondering all morning, and can only say stay strong and keep all your accomplishments in mind. You've done really well and I'm sure you can convince the FD that you're on the same page as him. Lots of charm and lots of evidence - you'll do well I'm sure.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Hi LG I know that interview frazzled brain oh too well! Congrats on going such great guns in a short space of time... you seem to be doing so well that is the main thing.
I kinda dropped lots of hints like you have about leaving too but it still came as a shock to them - think they just are in a little bubble where the company is so amazing why would anyone leave?! They often feel the same about London!
Best of luck fingers crossed for you!! xx

You need to have a good answer as to why you are leaving.
You need to imply that it was something that won't recur (and impact him) without implying that you are difficult to work with. so finding the daily commute difficult is a good one. But be clear you are happy to travel sporadically
I wouldn't go too deep into the difficult issues your previous company rather express it in terms of wanting a change to work for a larger yet growing company - possibly talking about a more strategic approach whilst still small enough to take on enough variety and responsibility to challenge yourself whilst supporting him in his chosen directionsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Hi gang!
I will reply to your messages tomorrow or Friday properly but I just wanted to quickly long on while I'm on the train home and tell you my news!
I DID IT!
I met the FD for the business I will be working for this morning, had a really good chat, he wanted to understand my CV better and my reasons for some of the moves in my career (some of which turned out to be similar to his) ,he told me more about the company, the role, all really positive. I'm not nieve to think the grass will be greener there will be masive challenges in the new role but I think I can take them on!
At the end he said he had no concerns over me and it was good to meet me which I reciprocated as it genuinely was good to meet him, he was a great guy and clearly has had a great career to date.
By lunchtime I had an official offer!
By 3pm I had resigned!
What a day! Oh then I had aboard meeting! Hence why I am only just on the train home!
So, chat with current boss.... As expected he expressed disappointment (putting it mildly... I am not in the good books) that I hadn't spoken to him about interviewing etc and I explained my reasons for this, I stand by it, I couldn't have the pressure of interviewing for positions while knowing my CEO was aware!
So I am on the 3 month countdown
I went for drink after the board meeting with the sales director (one I recently had a disagreement with) and he said he thought I had done the right thing, it sounded like a good move and he was happy for me while sad to see me go so that was nice.
So now I will concentrate on doing a good job of handing over until my replacement is found and I wish my current company all the best will in the world but I am so excited about this next stage in my life.
I spoke to new company today too, they were v.pleased I accepted and said they will keep me involved throughout my notice period and will get me out for drinks a few times so I can get to know people before I start which I appreciated.
Very excited, I feel this is a very good fit for me as a person, not just because it's commutable, my dad spent 30years in this industry so I am excited to follow his lead in some respect having grown up learning about this industry, it's exciting!
Wow. I will sleep well tonight! I was up at 4am worrying and fretting about it all!
So please I have Friday booked off! I have now, politely turned down the interviews i had booked for Friday and wished them the best but I am looking forward to a day off!
M is heading off with the army on Saturday so it will be nice to have Friday evening with him before he goes!
This post is longer than planned! I had a few wines after the meeting!
Will post tomorrow! Love you all, you guys are a huge support and I appreciate it so much.
