Yay for kitchen finally being done, and yay for OH not going away. I hope you had a good weekend.
Your friend was probably so caught up in the stuff that needed to be done for her wedding, and making sure that it wasn't broadcast, that she wouldn't have thought about who to actually tell. And perhaps telling you the night before was her way of letting you know before. People do odd things when they're getting married - you'll see.
thanks joeyjimbles that made me feel a lot better!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Morning gang!
On Monday night I spent an hour online applying to roles and I put my CV on the large UK job website beginning with R ending in eed. It paid off dividends as I have had 5 calls in the last couple of days, I met with a recruiter this morning who had 3 roles suitable for me, I selected 2 to be put forward for, one is within a 10 mins drive from home which would be amazing!
I am meeting another recruiter this afternoon over my lunch break and she said she is also working on something suitable so fingers crossed I will start interviewing soon!
Work really is (still) frustrating right now, yesterday we had another meeting to finalise the budget and after all mine and the sales directors work to produce a budget based on actual opportunity they decided to go with the version which is based on formulas. The good thing is that they took me more seriously over the cash situation and we spoke about ways to get investment potentially. although I am still worried we will run out of cash if things don't quickly improve.
Hopefully I will have something lined up before we need to find out!
Hope you're all having a good week!

Coming out of lurkdom to say hello and great work done over the years you've been on MSE
I live in London too with an OH in the army and have just finished what I suspect is the same/similar qualification as you so your diary has definitely struck a chord with me! Not to mention I just finished a job hunt/resigned from my companyMortgage Oct '20: £615k

hey hun, I fully agree with Joeyjimbles. Your work just sound like they don't want to play by the (there for a reason) rules and if it were me (and I think you feel this way) I would feel very uncomfortable and like it was going against my moral grain but I had no choice as they are the bosses. What concerns me is the solvency issues, as you know, there is an onus on them to ensure the company is solvent. Sounds to me like they have no regard for that and they will end up in hot water soon!
I totally think you are doing the right thing getting out and I have my fingers fully crossed for you!
In a lot of ways I wish I'd left my job earlier. I had a lot of pressure put on me from the top to do things I didn't feel ready for and in fact, felt bullied into. It's impossible when the top brass won't listen.

Hey LG
Hope things work out for you - not been very active in this thread as I haven't looked for a job in decades - been taken over 5 times so had 5 new names on my CV but no P45 - just a lovely stream of P60s.
Seen plenty of people come and go and, staying or going, if you're good and work hard you'll be fine. You'll be surprised how few people try it - especially in larger companies just being keen is more than half the battle
Heading to London today - and am going to change my route to get some time walking along the embankment this morning

Heya!
thanks for the support it means a lot! I am so uncomfortable going against what I believe is OK but not having a more experienced finance person above me makes it harder as I can't turn to someone for support or advice! Plus I need to be showing my finance assistant the right way to do things as opposed to how I'm being asked to do things while trying not to show her I'm not happy with what we're doing! Nightmare!
Pleased that you managed to get out of your place as it also sounded pretty damn awful! xxSantander 0% £1,529.94
