I did used to know a girl who regularly went and tried stuff on, bought the odd thing and then took it back to another branch, or a different floor of the store a few days later. She never took the stuff out of the bag at home, she said it was about the thrill of the chase.
Have a lovely weekend with M
Haha if thats what it takes! It is though, most of the time it's about the "need" to buy something rather than needing the actual purchase! It still has its tags on ready for return on wednesday!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
Mine was lush! M arrived back on Friday night, we had a nice sups at home and chilled out with a bottle of wine.
I got up Saturday morning and went for my ride at the stables which was lovely, then M went off to the rugby with his mates for the day and I chilled at home I did a home workout, cooked slimming world banana bread and made a healthy sups, then spread out on the sofa and relaxed! Just what I needed!
Yesterday we had a lazy morning - M was hungover! So I made us breakfast and we watched the first episode of Making a Murderer... unbelieveable! Cant wait to watch the next one. Then we met our local friends for a nice long walk with their dog and came home, I did my yoga DVD and cooked sups and made lunches for the week!
This morning was a good commute day! My friend was getting the same train so we sat together and had a good natter then I walked from Waterloo along the river to the office its such a nice sunny morning I couldn't help but be in a good mood!
We are moving office today! FINALLY! Cannot wait to be out of temporary offices and have our own space again.
I am still meeting the recruiter on Weds and my mission for the end of the week is to hunt on local businesses websites to see if there is anything I can apply to directly, just little steps each week will get me there eventually! In my head I have a little goal of resigning by the end of June so that by the time by notice is done I will be out of the commute before the nights have properly drawn in again.

The sun on The Thames can make all the difference - as can the lights going on at precisely the right time on the walk back (I worked for years in an office near Temple).
Yay for positivity (is that a word MSE spellcheck thinks not) - there was a mantra a while ago Dream, Believe, Receive - not sure whether it would work but the philosophy behind it seems nicely uplifting.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

It really does Joeyjimbles! Thanks for the mantra, I like the sound of it very much
So, another positive start to today, spent half an hour this morning searching online for roles to apply for and found a couple. I also came across two more recruiters in the area I haven't contacted yet so sent my CV to both.
We moved offices last night, I was there until around 8pm helping out and unpacking, it still is nowhere finished though, we have no network to work on and no internet which means we're all a bit stuck in terms of getting work done! I have email and stuff available but none of my files for month end! So my team and I are working from home today, not sure we can really do much as it wasn't planned but we will be able to catch up over the rest of the week.
Hopefully they get the office finished today, the kitchen still needed to be built and fridge installed and there were no meeting rooms when I left last night either... a lot of work left to do!
I am going to do my yoga DVD in a bit and then if it stops raining I will go for a run later.
M found out yesterday he is away on exercise again this and next week (despite being told on Friday he definitely wasn't!) so he is leaving first sparrows fart on Thursday and will be back next Friday, its a shame as he now can't come home with me this weekend for my friends 40th and my nieces christening... another lonely drive for LG! Only kidding, I will put Adele on the radio and belt out some notes no one has ever heard of!
Have a good day all

Hi all!
Had a good day WFH on Tuesday, after contacting som recruiters in the morning by lunchtime 2 of them had called me and I met one of them that afternoon. He was from a larger well known firm so I am less convinved of their "sales" techniques but we had a good chat and he was positive about the state of the market for my roles right now so it was worth meeting him.
Yesterday, I got an email from a large accountancy college that I used to study at in response to a letter I sent with my CV enquiring about tutoring positions. They have just decided to create a new tutor role and she emailed to ask if i was still interested and if so she would invite me for an interview in the next couple of weeks! I replied back to say that I was! This is really exciting as would be completley different from what I do now and i would love to teach. I think it would be a pay cut (if i got to that stage) and the hours would be way more varied but i would to have the opportunity to consider it!
The new office is coming along, there are a few niggles that are annoying and it isnt finished yet so we still have no kitchen (not MSE or slimming world friendly!) but i think we'll all be told to WFH mon-weds next week (WOO HOO!) to allow the builders to finish off! FINGERS crossed! So hoping by end of next week it'll be completely done then I can go back to taking in my healthy cost effective lunches!
M got told yesterday than is he no longer on the exercise so he hasn't gone away- last minute as usual! But I am pleased he is around this weekend!

great news about your Cv being so strong and all these opportunities I am so pleased for you. The right role is out there!
No kitchen is frustrating but lets hope it is lots of working from home and then you can have a short travelling week too, will make a huge difference to you yay! (plus its so expensive and not at all MSE or SW not having a kitchen.
great that you will have a weekend with M there too xx

Hi guys!
Been a v.frustrating and tiring week so apologies for not having been online much.
Work continued in the new offices this week, i was supposed to WFH mon-weds but ended up going in Tues and weds so i did today and yesterday at home. The meetings they made me go in for were so frustrating, if I book a meeting with the 4 of us, they will all be late and then will start by talking about other topics for ages before getting onto what I need so a lot of the time I don't get what i need cos we run out of time. Or if its their meeting, they will be late and I will be on time, then the topic won't be something i can really contribute too cos its too technical so I end up wasting time in a meeting i can't follow.
One meeting was around the budget for the coming year, it has been a NIGHTMARE to put together. I have gone about it as you should do on known revenue and cost plus estimations for what you know. But it just doesn't add up, given our revenue pipeline is so poor at the moment our cost base is way too high.
Only they don't really listen to me and just tell me to make it £xxxk revenue and £xxx profit... so i do a model to show them for that to work that we are £xxx off revenue and costs need to be cut by £xxx we've been going backwards and forwards on it so much and they just will not listen that decisions have to be made on costs, they just try to adjust the margin formulas to bring costs down which is ridiculous.
Hoping next week we can get it tied up. Really fed up with them at the moment, feels like I am always the one to be flexible with my time and meetings and requirements cos they always have something more important and I am the more junior team member, but when it suits them they want me to be equal (ie when they want to pawn work off on me) ARGH sorry rant over.
Job hunt update - spoke to a recruiter yesterday, had a good call etc etc very positive feedback but just seems they don't have a role yet ready to put me forward for so I hope something comes up soon!
Kitchen still not done in the office so i will try to make some salads to take in next week as so fed up of spending £6-8 a day on lunch and its not healthy!
Had a GREAT horseriding lesson this week, different instructor to normal and we had a good hour of him giving me new ways to have a better position. At one point I was riding around with my eyes closed singing baa baa black sheep! haha he thought it was hilarious! He is ex-household cavalry so we had a good reminisce about there, he left before I rode there but we knew some of the same horses and people. Booked in again for next week.
Nice quiet weekend ahead, just got my old flatmates coming over for lunch and to watch rugby, then sunday I am going over to meet a friends new baby. Balls, prob need to get a present!
Had a bombshell dropped on me last night, me and L (friend who lives nearby) and I met a close friend for dinner and she told us she is getting married tomorrow (as in it happened today!), they got engaged over xmas having been together a couple of years but needed to get paperwork done sharpish for her visa (from california) and so they can be eligble for an army house - all 100% legit and above board, in love etc just need the legalities out the way. Her and I used to be so so close and I was just quite sad that she didn't feel she could tell me before last night and involve me a bit especially as I suggested that they do a small registry do before having a main wedding for the reasons above so she knew I wouldn't judge her, I understand they want it on the down low and are telling as few people as possible so as not to take anything away from the big day but it would have been nice to share the excitement.
Anyway hopefully they had a nice day and it went well so they can crack on planning the big one now!
Just poured myself a glass of white while i type and browse the boards, happy friday all! Hope you have great weekends

Hello
Happy Monday
Not much to report today thus far, upsides are that the kitchen has a microwave, toaster and small (to be replaced by bigger) fridge so I am feeling more positive about being able to eat on plan and save some £££. There have been builders in today making a lot of noise so i have a headache! Hopefully they're nearly done!
Walked the 3 miles from station to office this morning which was good but blinking cold!
Hoping to leave work on time tonight and put some more time into applying for roles,

Not that this needs saying, but your colleagues sound like a right shower. I feel even more justified in saying make this period of time work for you in terms of getting a new job and taking the money until you do, and don't worry about them.
Yay for kitchen finally being done, and yay for OH not going away. I hope you had a good weekend.
Your friend was probably so caught up in the stuff that needed to be done for her wedding, and making sure that it wasn't broadcast, that she wouldn't have thought about who to actually tell. And perhaps telling you the night before was her way of letting you know before. People do odd things when they're getting married - you'll see.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
