Hi LG
Congratulations on getting over half way there. I think it will be after Christmas before I see mine coming down quicker.
Had a good weekend with DD's birthday, went to the cinema and then out for dinner which was lovely. Although I lost Saturday as I went out Friday lol and it was very messy haha.
Can see what you mean about staying single, note to self, always check for the rings first lol.
Hope work hasn't been to bad for you today, any news?
Take care.
Lil

What a couple of weeks, can't beleive its been so long since I posted
The redundancies happened at work, a few friends went but I seem to have survived this round.
Monday we had a seminar then the xmas party, the project was half announced at the seminar but they said nothing about us moving to the new firm. That will be announced in January and I hope there will be an opportunity to move over
Awful day at work today, I don't know if my manager had a bad night last night or what but she was in a foul mood today and took it out on me. As soon as the clock hit 5 I left without saying a word and I haven't done that in a very long time. Tomorrow is another day, and even more importantly, FRIDAY!
Debt is looking good, very much on the down and my strict xmas bugeting has paid off as I seem to be on track to finish the month in budget and have also made over payments.
I even treated myself to a new top today. It had £10 off and Im going to wear it on a night home next weekend with my old friends.
The horses have gone on their winter holidays so there's only a few left behind in London, its nice they get a break from the city and they have lovely thick coats to keep them warm during the cold. So a plus side is I have a lot less early mornings but I just dont get to ride so much!
ONLY 8 WORKING DAYS LEFT TILL XMAS!!!!
I was going to work in between xmas and new year but have since been granted the holiday so I get a nice long break. I cannot wait. It will be the longest period off work I have ever had where I havent had to study
Hope you guys are all OK

Just updated my siggy, I made an overpayment on the CC which knocked another 1% off
Today is v MSE. I'm doing a mystery shopper lunch in a bit and will get the bill for 2 courses refunded.
I was invited out tonight for the 30th birthday of a girl at work but I spent too much at Winter Wonderland last night (mistakenly took the budget for both nights out in my purse and one too many mulled wines saw the end of that) so I'm going to cancel that and stay in with my flatmate to make up for it
Then tomorrow we plan to get up and go for a workout together.
I ordered a £500 saver time from Amazon last week and it holds £500 of £2 or £1 coins so everyday since that arrived I've emptied my £1 and £2's into that when I get home and already have £28 saved. when its full I can empty it out and buy a treat (I can't imagine I'll fill it in the next few months so I'm hoping not to have any debt left to throw it at!)
I have already done 3 loads of washing this morning, with one more to do and have tidied and hoovered my bedroom so feeling quite productive!
The xmas budget is going quite well, I still have something small for Mum and Dad to buy and my brother and his girlfriend. I keep trying to something of a gift to buy each pair to enjoy together and try to keep the cost down by buying one present instead of two but can't think of anything!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Not very personal, but champagne always goes down well - you can get one bottle or two depending on generosity. Lidl are currently doing some at £9.99 which apparently scored very highly in blind taste testing. If you wanted to jazz it up I have found people like one white and one rose (my standard wedding gift) although haven't seen any cheap deals on rose
if you are really doing it cheap get one white and one pink chaumet (perry) from lidl (total cost for both £3.18) - look jazzy and do taste very nice - me and OH polish one off between us most weekends :-) - I'm such a cheap date honestlyI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Ah I hadn't thought of that, thank you! That's a really good idea as they like a fizz but also wouldnt know the difference between a better priced one!
I got a brilliant bargain today!
After our mystery shopper lunch today, me and M decided to head to Oxford St (terrible idea it was RAMMED!) to get her some shoes she needed and I thought I could have a look for a winter coat to buy - Mum sent me £100 for Xmas
In House of Fraser I saw a lovely think puffa coat which is what Id been looking for and was priced at £45 so was well chuffed it wouldn't eat up all my money. And when she put it through the till it came up at £27!!! BARGAIN!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Satchmo - the link didn't work!!
Hi savingowen! Well done for getting through all 93 pages! Haha thanks for postinghope you stick around!
Hi all,
Been a crazy busy week at work, I'm off today and just killing time before I head to catch my train homecan't wait to get back to Mums, have a hot bath and catch up with the family. Am going out in the local town tonight and my friend is setting me up with a work colleague of his! I think he decided if he marries me off to someone up north then I'll move home! Hahaha I'll keep you all updated on that!
Taking my laptop home with me as I need to do some work on the train, got a big deadline on Monday so today wasn't best planned to not be in the office! Ah well
Payday is a week todaycan't wait to get making payments again and see those numbers plummet a bit more. Budget is tight-ish until then but definitely not impossible!
I have my banking app on my phone now so it's really useful to keep an eye on the bank balance without having to log onto a PC
I had an annoying letter last weekend from the Nationwide about my closed credit card, they'd added interest and a late payment fine to the card after I closed it and they confirmed I didn't owe them anything. But to their credit when I rang up they removed all the charges without too much fuss
I've had a really sad week too. My favourite horse who I've taken care of for the last four years in London retired from the army to his new home at a horse welfare charity. He's been so special to me and when I heard that he'd gone without any warning I was gutted, I'm welling up just writing this about him. He used to cover me with sloppy kisses when I saw him every morning and nibble at my pockets for treats! Me and the girls are going to go and visit him in his field in the new year. It's great news that he is now being looked after as an old horse should though and I think his arthritis will slow down with him being able to move around more and keep his joints looseSantander 0% £1,529.94

As the link didn't work, I hope you can see the above pic? It's more caramel coloured than the pic. It's a swing coat, so v forgiving.
Sorry to hear about your lovely horse, let's hope he has a pain free retirement.
Relax this w/end, work can wait and deadlines are often more flexible than the instigator admits. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hi everyone,
Satchmo - I love the jacket!
I can't believe how time has flown since i last wrote.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas?!?! I went home with a friend from riding last Friday. She is from the US and couldn't fly home for Christmas, it was really nice to have a friend to show round my home time.
Xmas presents alllmost came in on budget. I had forgotten a couple of bits and so had to buy a couple extra! Much easier to manage financially than last Christmas which was nice.
I came back to London yesterday, ate too much and drank too much and so having ridden a horse in the wet and mud this morning i am spending the rest of today resting!
I just watched Downton Abbey on catch up and am REALLY furious with the ending!!! Can't they ever have a happy ending?
We got paid on the 20th December and so I have an extra 5 days to budget for this month. I am now going to update my spreadsheet and see how its looking, then I will make the overpayment and update you on the numbers!Santander 0% £1,529.94
