Right,
Siggy updated and spreadsheet sorted. I was hoping to send £500 to the Post Office Credit Card but I over spent more than I thought and so I've sent £449.22 (did this number to make the balance a nice round number!)
What do i have left?
Post Office Credit Card
£1,550.00
Next month I plan to pay off £850 and the following month £700 will see that one disappear!
Nationwide Loan
£3,562.86
Next month I will pay the usual DD of £104.79
The month after I will have finished paying the Post Office and Mum and Dad so will have one month at £450
The following two months I will pay £1,100 each and the month after the remainder around £700
Then that will be it
That scenario will leave me debt free on payday at the end of May.
But in Feb I will find out how much bonus will be for this year and receive that at the end of February so I am hoping to bring that forward. :j
Finally can see that light at the end of the tunnel! I'm getting excited about being able to save up and there is a chance of a holiday to California this September if I can get debt free and save up in time!Santander 0% £1,529.94

That is very good to read Londongirl, I remember that feeling when I could pay off what Iwas paying from one debt on to another. good times!
Have you worked out how much the California holiday will cost?
such a good goal to have
Merry Christmas - bit late i know!

Hey Buffy!
Thanks, yeah I had been paying Mum and Dad £200 a month and now just got £70 left and with that and the Post Office Card being paid off within a couple of months it really feels like it coming together!
Well, it should "just" be flights and spending money as I am going to stay with the family of the friend I took home for xmas as that is where she is from. I've asked her to come round one night to budget for it as I have no idea how much I should plan for. There was talk of driving to Vegas for a few days while we're there but then it could get expensive! I do have in the bck of my mind it may need to wait until next year if it means I will struggle to save in time. I'd rather save and go guilt free than get in a mess again!
Merry Christmas!!!
Hope you're having a good one! xxxSantander 0% £1,529.94

Just had to re-jig the budget, last night had £50 unplanned spend which is ridiculously annoying!
FM1 and I were planning a quiet night in front of the TV to get over the hangover from previous night. Got home and FM2 had a mate over watching the football (around 2pm) so I watched a movie in my room, during this, another friend arrived for the football "party" and they closed the living room door so FM1 and I felt well and truly banished from the living room.
I went in after my movie and asked what their plans were and was told we'd have our living room back soon, a couple of hourse later, they're still in there and so FM1 went in and asked what their plan was again, and theyd just started watching another game. She said that we'd planned a quiet night in and they just giggled at her
So we were quite hacked off to be banished from the living room without prior warning, if he'd told us the plan we would have made other plans and thats how the flat has always run but maybe we should have made that clearer when he moved in
So FM1 and I decided not to waste the entire evening in our rooms and threw on some make up and went out, but we hadn't eaten anything so we ended up buying drinks and dinner, we had fun but feeling rough again today and £50 down.
I had a chat with FM2 just now, he came and apologised and he'd realised we were hacked off. I just explained that we felt banished from the living space and that we dont want him to feel like he can't have friends round but that we'd appreciate warning so that we can make other plans.
It's not a huge issue but this is the 4th thing in a string of untidiness, smoking inside the flat and general laziness.
Any tips on how to house train him are welcomed!!!
I think the money can be made up throughout the month as my plans are limited this month and with the Dryathalon looming it should be easy to spend less!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Also... Last month I spent some xmas money my Mum gave me on my debit card on some clothes for myself and spent £63, that was at least 4 weeks ago and they still haven't taken it from my account, Im still budgeting for the money to go out as I fully expect it to but I just want them to take it so I don't have to worry about it!Santander 0% £1,529.94

boys (of any age) can be enormously poor at responding to subtle hints so I would just have been more obvious about it.
just say "look, there is bound to be a pub with the game on down the street its our turn in here so why don't you head on out". if you wanted to make sure of the deal say you would have gone out yourself but couldn't for "women's reasons" they would be far too embarrassed to do anything but scarper!!I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

hahaha so true! Next time I'll jump in between them on the sofa with a hot water bottle and complain of cramps! They'll be gone in a jiffy!

I've spent hours today staring at my spreadsheet! Think it really is foolproof for 2013 now!
Today I realised I was struggling even more on my budget for this month as I will have at least 1 and possibly 2 trips home to pay for. The definite is my granny's birthday the last weekend in Jan and the other is for when my nephew is born - due 15th but if he is late it could work well and I'll meet him on the same trip as granny's birthday!
So I booked the tickets for that at £29.70 so that's £30 I hadn't budgeted for and potentially same again if the baby comes early!
So I added an allowance for train fare each month for £30 as I pretty much go home every month for one reason or another and I always book in advance and use my rail card to get them as cheap as possible and use quidco too! If I don't go home one month then that's £30 extra to pay off debt!
I also went through and made my spreadsheet go up to Dec 2013, and added in every birthday for each month to pay for, I did have £15 each month but some months I have no birthdays and some months I have 4 or 5! So I've adjusted the budget for depending on whose birthday I need to shell out for! I've budgeted quite strictly so it will be a good challenge to make sure I don't overspend.
Can't think of anything else that should be in there now, so looking forward to 2013 being a within budget year with fewer monthly £££ mishaps!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Just taken me ages to read through the first 15 pages so have skipped to the end to see if you were still on track! Well done, you have paid so much off your debt.
Are you still studying? I am studying ACCA, I think I am one of the oldest students in the world.
Last year was totally crap for me in the world of money saving/debt busting so I am looking for inspiration...Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
