Hi LG,
I've read your entire thread over the past couple of days and just want to say well done on clearing so much of your debt in such a short amount of time. Your diary is so positive and inspirational.
I'm on track to be debt free in June 2013. My payday is also this Friday and i plan to start the 10euros a day challenge and see what i have left in the pot at the end of the month.
Thanks and hi also to your gang!0 -

Went back to work today, feel OK for it just flippin knackered now.
Yesterday the redundancies started, 2 went in the Property division - the have been told that there will be more this and next week. 2 went in the ops department too but I dont work closely enough with that dept to know much about it.
Nothing in finance yet but the latest rumour is that they will happen tomorrow. I just wish they could tell us when it is and when its finished so that we can stop worrying and wondering.
My cheque will cash overnight and then Friday is payday, tomorrow I'm going to send the payment to my Post Office card then on Friday I can start whizzing my wages around.
I missed out on FREE drinks tonight, we had training the afternoon with our auditors SNOOZE FEST and they had invited us to drinks after but I just didn't want to overdo it on my first day back. Im sure my colleagues will have no problems drinking my share for me!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Well LG you are going to have to stay around when you are DF and we won't let you fall back into your old ways. You give me the kick I need and I will do the same back :rotfl:.
One day I hope to be in the same position that I have only a few months left.
You have been so inspirational to a lot of people on here, especially me, and I know no matter how long I am absent, you're there with your fantastic diary to keep me going.
You need to make a pledge to us now that you will not disappear on us once debt free.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow again. I hope they don't drag this into next week for you.
Take care.
Lil

Hey Lil!
Thanks so much, you're totally right! I'm going to keep my diary and turn it into a savings diary instead of a debt busting one!!!
I promise I won't disappear, if I didn't have you guys I'd feel completely lost!
Thanks, me too. At work now so when I hear something I'll log on and report

I have a lot to report since last week.
Was paid on Friday and had lots of fun paying off debt! Which meant:
I HAVE PAID OFF OVER 50%!!! Over halfway there now!!!
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I have now paid off and closed the accounts on Halifax and Nationwide credit cards which feels amazing.
I just now have:
Post Office credit card: 2,059.22
Nationwide Loan: 3,667.65
Going to pay off the PO credit card with £900 next month, £1,000 month after and balance month after that.
Then just a couple of months after that, the loan will be paid off too! BOOM!!! The end is nigh!
This is feeling so good!
I have also this weekend made a proper budget for my "bills and emergency" account. I plan to use this account to be my account which bills, hair appointments, dental appointments, CIMA fees, horse riding insurance etc and emergencies come out of.
I used to put CIMA fees on the credit card and pay off from expenses but I have now closed that account so I have zero room for error. Its safer that way as I think I'd always see that account as my safety blanket and thats not what I want
Anyway, I've got an amount each month going into this seperate bills account and there will be enough in there to cover 4 hairdressers a year, 2 dentists, all my CIMA fees plus a decent buffer as the year progresses and if I don't have to dip into it for emergencies it will also easily cover xmas.
Weekend was good:
Friday night was incredibly fun. Went out with some of the work gang and an old friend of mine, we tried the new bar in Kensington which is decked out like an Austrian ski bar and has had Prince H pictured falling out of amongst other celebs, we got there early enough not to have to pay entrance and drinks surprisingly weren't overly expensive, that was fun then headed off to a roof top night club with amazing gardens. We got in there for free as one the of lads with us had a friend DJing there so put us on the guestlist.
Its a really fun club but people in there don't half take themselves too seriously! We managed to lower the tone a bit and have a flippin good knees up, me and my friend met two lovely guys who we enjoyed chatting up and they invited us to join them in finishing their bottle of vodka - which we gladly did (always happy to help) and it avoided us paying £12 per drink :eek::eek::eek::eek: they were great but left without saying goodbye so didnt manage to swap numbers. However, the next day upon looking through the photos we noticed ... wedding rings!!! What is it with me meeting married men????? Good job nothing was shared other than vodka!
Saturday was a write off and Sunday I did some xmas shopping and fiddled with my spreadsheet budget.
More redundancies happened today though and 2 went from my department, they were both friends so I'm a bit gutted. I do seem to be safe for now but nothing has been announced on this project yet so who knows what joy that will bring.
