  • Hey Allybee,Yep I agree and have done just that, should have the cheque in 5-7 days! by the time it cashes through the bank I should have the cash around payday so I can make some big dents this month and will have an extra £150 a month in my payslip which I can put into my online saver which does earn interest. They are good if you plan to stay with the firm a long time and the share price goes up. My job is so volatile at the moment I just cant see that happening and so it doesnt make sense to keep investing in it

  • If it's anything like my share scheme at work remember if you cash it in early you'll have to pay tax on it so you'll lose 20% I've been in mine for just over 2 years, I only pay 2.5% of my salary but I have just over £1000 saved up, we don't get dividend payouts it goes back in to buy more shares and the company matches every share we buy with one from them on the condition we don't touch it for 5 years.

  • We have one that works like that also but this one I've cashed in was to purchase share option in 3 years time so I wont be making any gain and therefore won't have to pay any tax Im just being refunded the money I have put in.

Woke up in the middle of the night last night with uncontrollable shakes, shivers, sweats and a chainsaw in my throat. Was up all night and had to call in sick today. Spent the morning in bed sleeping it off and taking nurofen. Feeling a bit perkier now so logging into work from my bed otherwise I'll fall so far behind.

Payday a week on Friday, I can't wait to make a serious dent in the debts and smash the 50% mark, I hope my sharesave cheque arrives in time to cash it by then so I can do it all in one go.

  • I have tonsillitis! IT HURTS!!!!!

I tried to get an NHS appointment but was told I'd have to wait over a week so I came into work and came to see the private docs near the office that work pay for, he's dosed me up on Penicillin and told me to take it easy. Well, at least being ill makes being MSE easier!

I text my friend asking for sympathy and got the reply "well that's what you get for kissing naughty boys":eek::eek:

Yay, you're back :j I was hoping you were OK, just been and posted on your diary and of course I understand you don't need to apologise for taking time out

Thanks, one of the secretaries let slip by accident that its all happening next week, Monday and Tuesday I think, fingers crossed I'm safe but also that my boss and friends are too. We're a tight knit gang and I'd hate to see any of them go.

Still feeling really unwell, have texted and taken today off (perfect timing to get the chop hey!) and boss wrote back a lovely message saying I really didnt seem well enough to be in yesterday and ordered me to rest. I can catch up on work next week, provided I'm still there! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need to put it out of my mind until Monday.

Whats really horrid is that we don't really know when it happens, if my phone rings and the ID says the 12th floor then I know "its me", I will be willing my phone to stay silent on Monday. I am quite nervous as I know that my job wont be necessary at some point in the near future so it only makes sense for it to be me. Monday will be a waiting game, horrid.

If it is me, I will take the offer they give me and put everything I have into getting a new job before my notice period is up (1 month) so that I can use the redundancy money to get debt free and see it as an opportunity for a new start.

Right, who has film recommendations for me to download and watch today? I am a TERRIBLE sick person!

  • FM1 has done some shopping around and we think we're paying about £200 a year too much on bills, we've therefore switched supplier and changed to DD so now we know each month exactly how much to pay and no more surprise huge bills! MUCH better!

Since all my plans for the weekend are out the window now I'm staying in bed I am going to use the spends I will save to do some online xmas shopping and ease the burden from next month

I can use Quidco too to earn cashback. Lush.

  • My cheque arrived from the sharesave today for £900, I took a walk this afternoon and banked it, I will clear my account on Thursday then I get paid on Friday and can debt bust big time!

Spent the rest of the day in bed and have watched two films, both v funny. FM is home now and we're watching children in need.

Feel better for having a restful day and if I feel good still tomorrow will make myself get up properly and go for a walk somewhere.

  • Feeling A LOT better today, the antibiotics have kicked in and I'm ready for action! Sort of... still taking it easy. Have spent the morning in bed and just going to watch the rugby later... COME ON ENGLAND but sticking to soft drinks until I'm off the drugs! (Its MSE too!)

  • Hi LG

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. I've spent the evening watching cheesy Christmas films while DD is having yet another sleep over lol.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you for Monday.
