Good luck LG, although I don't believe you need that now as you're so prepared. I will be sending very happy exam passing thoughts your way though.

    I'M FREE!!!!!

Freedom, sweet, sweet freedom! Never felt so good!

So, exam! Went well. One of the issues the board wanted clairfication on was the cash flow, did some calcs on the information given about problems affecting the business and came out with £-175 by the end of 2014 - BOOM there's your cash flow issue. Not sure how accurate my cash flow was but Im sure it was in the right direction, then the rest of the issues were all to mitigate the huge hole in the cash!

So I do feel good about it, there is a chance I got it completely wrong but I will find out 3 weeks tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for keeping me going and spuring me on!

Oh ok :o, I thought it was either that or the ACCA. I am sure you have done well with all the studying you have done. I have recently had a wobble about whether to continue with my application to be a midwife or leave healthcare altogether and go into finance. Have you enjoyed it? Did you do an undergrad degree in the same discipline?

That would be a change, have you had any experience in midwifery yet? I think that would be so rewarding but can understand not everyone might take to it..

I did AAT before I did CIMA as i didnt go to university (i left school after GCSE's to train in hairdressing then changed my mind at 18!) I have enjoyed it more the further along I've got, exams and working is stressful at times but I do enjoy it now I have a job I like

Yes it would be a complete change, volunteering and working within healthcare is all I have done really. See if I do change my mind I would probably go the route you have, as even with a degree I still wouldn't be qualified as an accountant so don't really see the point in getting 45k debt for the privilege of having one. I am 25 now, so a part of me thinks I may have left it a little too late to change my mind..

Yeah a degree won't really be the best route, you don't even need to do AAT really before ACCA or CIMA though it does give you a deeper background to it. AAT made me exempt from the first year of CIMA, so you could actually just do CIMA including the certificate level and you could be done in under 3 years, its never too late to start it, there have been people in my classes in their 50's who have completed CIMA, the best way is to try and get a suitable job and ask the company to sponsor you
