Oh its brilliant thank you! The difference is amazing, so much quicker!

Also just had a really nice act of kindess. Went down to the post room at work to post my ebay parcel and got chatting to the chap there as I usually do and asked him how much I owed, and he let me have it as a present! Then he commented on my change purse that I was carrying to top up my canteen card as my allowance ran out yesterday and he gave me his canteen card to buy my breakfast as he has lots of allowance left :) how nice!

Oops, sorry, cross posted with you there. :o New lappie sounds great! We've had ours a few months now and it's still much faster than the old desk top (mind you that was loaded with some hefty games).

And what a nice chap in the post room! I expect breakfast tasted all the better for being a gift!

    Hi London Girl!

I've been lurking around your thread for a while and you've inspired me to finally start a diary of my own! I'm also a London girl who got in trouble by living beyond her means, in fact it sounds like we've probably frequented some of the same places!

I'm also studying, although I left my job last year and am now doing a full-time post-grad, so I can't sympathise with the stresses of studying and trying to be MSE!

Anyway- keep the good work, hopefully I'll be able to follow in your footsteps!

Whoops- I meant I CAN sympathise with trying to study and be MSE. You'd think being a student I'd learn to proofread! x

    Hi all!

Muffin - Thanks, yes its things like that, that make me realise how many nice people I have around me!

Miggy - Thanks! Yes everything tastes better when its free hey!

Meow - Thanks! Payday is the BEST day!

Aurora - Hi, welcome to the gang! sounds like we're in pretty similar situations, when I have more time later I'll find your diary! Good luck with your studying too, its so tough!

Sorry I haven't updated all weekend been a busy one!

Saturday am I went for a ride in the sun on a lovely horse then me and my friend went back to my flat and she worked on her dissertation while I worked on my record of professional experience to apply to CIMA, I worked until about 11pm, it took ages and was so painstaking going back over my last 7 years of employment in detail!

I finished that yesterday morning and then met my friends in Regents Park to enjoy the sun before the theatre! I had a bottle of cava lying round that I took and bought food on the way with my collection on 20ps - I spent £12 and the machine broke halfway through putting them in! Whoopsie! It was a lovely afternoon in the sun, being lazy and then went into the theatre, my friend told me to pay him for the ticket next time I see him so I'll put £12 aside for that. The comedian was really good but I was a little tipsy and tired and nodded off on my friend! haha

Had a nice ride in the sun again this morning and really struggling to get into my work today, going to have a coke to gee me up a bit for the afternoon!

Just been looking at my £££ for next month, there's so much outgoings I'm really considering just paying minimum payments on everything initially and re-assessing later in the month....hmmm

    I need to pay for...

    - Flatmates 30th present (She bought me Westlife tickets for my birthday which cost about £90 in all so I need to reciprocate – I have told her that next year we’re doing normal presents) her actual birthday is in September but if Im buying tickets for something I need to order soon.
    - Friends wedding £30 on present and £30 for a cab home as its in the middle of nowhere but I am going with a friend who I’m sure will share the cab but this is worst case scenario
    - Mum and Dad £100 to pay them back towards the money they lent me last month total £470
    - Brothers birthday £25
    - Races to watch my friend ride in a charity race, tickets are free so just need drink and travel £40 total.
    - Gas and Electricity bill will come late this month so need to put aside £60 for that
    - Extra food expenditure as having time off work to study.

And it is my exam next month which means long days and evenings at college which is the main reason I’m being extra cautious and suggesting only pay minimum to start with as I know how difficult it was to not spend money when I did my last exams. I would rather be over cautious and be able to pay some extra off during the month than try to over do it and run out of money when I have an exam to worry about… does that seem sensible?

Very sensible. You need to put your energies into your exam and the fewer other things there are to juggle, the better - and there are plenty of 'spends' coming up too. I'm very impressed that you have it all thought out, though. :money: True MS talk. ;)

  • Hi LG

I totally agree with Miggy on being sensible. I remember how you juggled a lot last time you were studying and its better not to have to stress over this too.

I would love to be able to go to a lovely park on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I had to make do with the allotments but it was lovely and peaceful and I just pottered around. DD loves it down there too.

I remember someone saying that they loved hearing your stories about life in London, so do I. I live further up North and its no where near as exciting although as you might have seen on MT's thread, I am planning a long weekend there next year with DD.

Take care and don't stress to much over your exams. We're all behind you.

Thanks :) Feel more confident I won't mess up knowing I have that buffer

I think I've gotten gotten the MSE ways embedded in me now :)
