I totally agree with Miggy on being sensible. I remember how you juggled a lot last time you were studying and its better not to have to stress over this too.
I would love to be able to go to a lovely park on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I had to make do with the allotments but it was lovely and peaceful and I just pottered around. DD loves it down there too.
I remember someone saying that they loved hearing your stories about life in London, so do I. I live further up North and its no where near as exciting although as you might have seen on MT's thread, I am planning a long weekend there next year with DD.
Take care and don't stress to much over your exams. We're all behind you.

Hey Lil!
Thanks, glad you all agree. Its just one less thing to worry about
The allotments sound lovely, the parks can get so busy down here particularly with the extra tourism at the moment
ThanksIf you need any help deciding where to go just let me know
I have a good London Girl story for you in my update
Thanks it really helps to know I have support

I had such a treat last night! I have such amazing friends!
A friend is working on the Olympics and sent me a text during the day asking if I wanted two tickets for the Opening Ceremony Dress Rehearsal! She has tickets for tomorrow so didn’t want to spoil it by going before the real thing! So I went and took my friend T – the friend who takes me to Ascot so it was nice to be able to repay the favour – and it was fab!!! Not going to give anything away but I think tomorrow night will look spectacular and the effects should look amazing on TV.
Very impressed at the Olympic park, getting there on the tube was do-able just crowded and the army were super efficient at getting everyone into the stadium so there was no queuing there, it was just like going through security at the airport but they wore combats – I have to say I wouldn’t have minded being searched by some of themThey seem to have thought it through well and had various entrances to get you in the right direction and there were thousands of loos so no queuing even for the girls!
Inside the stadium is massive, and even though we were right up high the view was still good and you could see everything just fine. Show v.impressive and will be even better tomorrow as they did miss out the biggest surprises so I don’t know everything that happens!
They kicked us out at about 10:30, but that wouldn’t be the end. The real thing goes on later but they had to cut it short so the noise didn’t disturb the athletes village! LOL
Getting out was busy but no different to a rugby match or concert at a big stadium. They managed the crowd well and once you made it out of the Olympic Park the crowd dispersed and getting on trains was easy. Have got a thank you card to send to my friend as it was nice of her to offer me that.
Anyway… money!
I’ve been paid so that means time for a summary of last month. I’ll do a quick one as it’s not really impressive and this month won’t be either
Starting debt was £8218.36
Paid off £462.54
Finishing debt was £7,755.82
This month with minimum payments I’ll pay off £212.79 bringing debt down to £7,543.03 and 44% paid off. That’s worst case as if I do better in the month I will pay more off but like I said before I just don’t want to risk having money worries during this exam time.
First day back at college on Saturday, I will try to make myself a pasta lunch but not sure if I’ll have time, been working really long hours again – but just had some good news on that. I’m being assigned an intern to help me out so I can pass on a lot of work to her which will be a great help!
Exam less than 5 weeks away.Gulp. Spent a couple of hours on Tuesday night with my study buddy going over the case study and that helped as we both had ideas that the other hadn’t thought of.
Work have organised drinks tonight, I’m turning up to show my face at but once the free drink runs out MSE LG will kick in and I’m going home!!Santander 0% £1,529.94

wow you are a lucky girl LG! Sounds fantastic! My oh bought me tickets to the gymnastics qualifiers for my birthday last year (we tried to get tickets for the Olympics but didn't get them). It was fantastic and I truely loved it - have always had a thing for gymnastics its about the only sport I have any interest in watching. Just found out that a colleagues nephew is going to see the real thing and have been struck by envy!
You are doing so well with your debt slaying its so impressive! I think by this time next year you will be free. Well done you xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all
I did well last night and only stayed until 9:30 when the bar tab closed! So pleased I went home then as I feel great today and everyone else who stayed out till 3am is feeling rotten! hehe I'm trying not to rub it in too much... honest
I have paid the min payment on my NW Ccard of £25 so that has £264 left on it (REALLY hoping to clear this next month)
I have paid the NW loan DD of £104.79 so that has a balance of £4,086.81
The PO DD goes out on 21st min payment of £83 which will leave £3,192.22
Will update siggy for first two now. I've done all the rest of my transfers for the month.
Saved £40 for xmas
Saved £60 for bills due
Accounted for wedding and races in budget. My friend booked our tickets to the races in advance as she gets 50% off travel, so they cost £20 return instead of £60.
Tonight is a friends engagement drinks, my daily budget has a few quid left as I had to buy breakfast and lunch today as canteen allowance ran out. But I'm not planning to drink as I have college tomorrow and its in the local so I can walk home easily
I'm looking forward to watching the ceremony in full tonight and seeing what the surprises were they left out!
My grandma sent me a cheque for £30 to treat myself for passing my exams which was a really nice surprise! BUT she put 2011 instead of 2012 bless her... im not sure what to do with it as I didnt want to upset her by asking her to change it....Santander 0% £1,529.94

Hello LG,
Things sound really exciting for you these days. How wonderfully special getting to see the Olympics Ceremony Dress Rehearsal. What a massive treat.
How lovely of your Nan sending you a cheque. I think you probably should mention the date to her though, otherwise she'll worry about why you didn't cash it. The date is something you can both have a little giggle over when you tell her as you're so lovely that it'll come across as sensitive and well intended.
Well done on the new payments. Isn't it great seeing the figure chip away? x0 -
Och just catching up LG after a mad few days...
Most of it's on my diary but still...
After a beloved 11 years in my wee 15th floor Social housing 'penthouse' LOL I'm saying farewell and moving to a ground floor flat in a rougher area but with a garden and two bedrooms (if the council approve. Should do once the lassie's rent arrears are paid off)
So yeah...yesterday (pre fall) I phoned like the electric folk (I'm on a contract) and like got that sorted and then the phone and broadband folk (plus net)....I will be without electric for a wee while so will need her key to top it up as it's a key meter. I'm getting a normal meter put in. Will have to phone and clarify tomorrow. Phone doesn't go on till 27/8 (and I should be moved by then) as like all the engineers are down at the olympics LOL. So move now LG whilst London is flooded with electric guys for the phone tee hee.
There's a gorgeous massive park 10-15 mins walk away and the river is like 5 minutes walk away. Also there's a freezer store 5 mins walk away and like the community centre is even less than that and a really good butcher about 5 mins under the railway in the rough part of town. No more late night trips to Mr S but still....Will really miss Mr S local but with my guy candy leaving (D) who now they tell me is married (he's sooooo cute) they'll be no loss.
Also have to change GP surgeries as am wrong side of the road for my current one. That's not the issue but changing consultants to the one who almost killed me 7 years ago with misdiagnosis and negligence is. So am seeing Dr. C on Thursday (with home bakes and chanel I got given off a freecycle mod the other day) to ask if he can make an exception.
So yeah tis me...exciting.
I thought I was going to be debt free on the 7th but with the move now I'm not so sure. I mean I can get a removal van for about £120 from the local charity but my exchanger wants to move into here on a Saturday so I don't think they can do it then. Hoping there's enough space in her spare room to get stuff sorted or I can get L to drive a van (L took me out for lunch yesterday post fall. Haggis, neeps and tatties for two for under £12)
So yeah ....when do you fancy a wee trip to Scottie LG? I hope I shall be settled in for Uni at the beginning of October
