How fab! :T:T:T to your Dad!

    He is awesome!!

I picked it up last night and it is sooo snazzy! I didnt get a chance to set it up as I went out (spend free) so tonight I'm going to set it up and get going!

I now owe my parents £469.99 (£100 that Mum lent me last week and £369.99 for the laptop and the microsoft office package) Im planning to sent a hundred a month till its done. But Dad has asked if he can have my old laptop to try and rebuild and take with him when he has to go away with work so maybe if he can do that he'll knock off some of the debt in return :D

It's a shame as without that I would have been able to pay off my NW Credit card this month rather than next but hey ho, like Muffin said, its an investment!

Have another lovely ride this morning! Tomorrow they are "roughing off" most of the horses that means taking their horse shoes off and weaning them off hard feed to hay so that they can go on their summer holidays and live in a field for 6 weeks as a break from London life! So that means I get a rest from the 5 am starts too and its a nice break for them :)

Weekend looks to be quiet, I am going with a friend to the open air theatre again (pray for sun!) as it was only £12 and I'll do my CIMA work the rest of the weekend

I have an appointment to give blood in an hour, this will be the second time I have done it so have been drinking lots of water and eaten lots to make sure I dont go dizzy, im feeling so tired from the early starts so hope that doesn't affect me.

Last night was another NSD, I haven't been doing payment a day recently as my bank balance is so low I can't!

    Hi LG,

Congratulations on your new snazzy laptop. Once you set that up and it goes racing off, compared to your old one, you'll be wondering how you managed without it! :D

Horses also get a 6 week holiday? That's brilliant! I miss those from school days!

This weekend is meant to be the arrival of summer! So should be great timing for your open air theatre. Enjoy!

Congratulations on your NSD's. I need some, but just can't seem to get myself in gear in that respect.

    Have a great day.

Thanks! Yeah can't wait to have one that doesn't wait for the mouse in the wheel to get going!

Yeah bless em, they work really hard during the year on various events and as they're based central there's no fields for them to graze in or run around so they get sent north for their jollies :D they get a longer holiday than me! lol

    AMAZING news! Thank you

Hope you're having a good day! Off home now to set up the laptop

Fab news on the laptop and your dad.:D

Shame about D but reading between the lines it sounds like he is still married and living in the marital home hence the difficulties with seeing you. At least he was honest about it and you can remember the nice places you visited where you didnt have to pay. Must admit that I wouldnt contact him either not even to see how he is getting on.

My parents came round today - firstly mum on her own to spend 2hrs clearing weeds from my front garden (it seems that I have heavy clay soil which doesnt help) and this afternoon both of them came round - they bought with them a tv stand which they built but then realised that my aged tv is too heavy for it. Dad had to be forcibly prevented from trying to lift the tv. He took the cabinet upstairs - this was a freebie that was left in the house but dad kind of broke it when he fell down the stairs last week. This is now sporting some new legs, it has a distressed top and mum had put a bit of vinyl in the bottom as the base was cracked and it was to prevent any water getting through it. They fitted a new blind in my bathroom too (too much faff and mum got quite ratty with dad) and the offcut of blind was used to line the shelves so that it matches the bathroom:cool:

Mum wants me to get rid of my limited edition framed photographs but I refused point blank - I would have to sell them either in the US or in Australia to get the best money for them. I bought them in 2003 whilst on my trip of a lifetime and I think they cost me around £800 now you need to add a nought on the end and then an additional 10% next year. I may soon be having an ercol sideboard as one has been spotted in a charity shop - mum saw it first and told me that she and dad could never afford ercol and had to have mackintosh instead which was good but not as good as ercol. The sideboard is from the 1960's but it looks very retro:D

Oh, I baked today - I tend not to make cakes but I had some blackened bananas that needed eating (I never eat them when their skins have blackened) so I found my old Be-Ro recipe book (I think it cost me about 84p) and cooked up some banana tea bread which is now sliced and individual slices are in the freezer. It is rather yummy and mum agreed because she tried a piece. She wanted to know how I measured my ingredients (I didnt weigh the bananas) so I showed her my ancient jug (a charity shop find which cost me 50p) which is marked with cup sizes as well as ounces.

You are not at all far wrong on D. Still married, she lives in Canada for the time being, unsure whether he wants to be with her or not. There's more to it but no need to dwell now! He was honest and I appreciate that, we had a nice time but after a chat the other night decided to leave it be. He lives so close I'm sure we'll bump into each other and if we do it will be nice to say hi.

Sorry I didnt respond to the other posts re D the other day I was still thinking it all over and wasn't sure what to say!

Nice of your Mum and Dad to help you out so much, it must be a big help with settling in.

Amazing your photographs are worth so much but if they are dear to you I agree you should keep them, we may be on a money saving mission but where would we be without some special things??

Your cakes sound yum! Im hungry now :)

Was in bed SO early last night! Had a real good snooze to catch up on two 5am starts in a row!

Set up my laptop and it is sooo whizzy I love it!

I sold two of my books on ebay last week and they are in the post having now received payment, I've transferred the £10.78 into my account this morning from paypal but it probably wont appear until next week which is annoying as I'd really like it for the weekend, get paid on Wednesday - phew!

Tomorrow I'm going to the library with a friend, she's working towards her dissertation and I'm going to get to grips with my exam case study. It's about 23 pages long and I need to know it well and analyse it thoroughly before college starts next Saturday.

Sunday will work on that again from home then in the evening I'm going to the open air theatre - hence why I'd like that tenner in my account before then! Oh well!

I get my expenses for my exam paid back on Monday so that can go straight to the c card which I paid for them on to clear that, it is a fiver in credit from last time I paid for exams for some reason so I'll keep back a fiver to clear that.

    Yesterday was NSD 5 :)

How are you finding the new laptop? It must be working as you have been typing... :)

Horace, your parents seem to make very eventful visits! I hope your Dad's okay after falling. I can understand you wanting the sideboard: I have a little ercol chair from my parents, similar vintage to the sideboard and it will probably outlast me. :D Plus it's just a nice thing to have.

Oh its brilliant thank you! The difference is amazing, so much quicker!

Also just had a really nice act of kindess. Went down to the post room at work to post my ebay parcel and got chatting to the chap there as I usually do and asked him how much I owed, and he let me have it as a present! Then he commented on my change purse that I was carrying to top up my canteen card as my allowance ran out yesterday and he gave me his canteen card to buy my breakfast as he has lots of allowance left :) how nice!

You're really in the zone this week with the acts of kindness you're receiving. You're surrounded by some lovely people.

    Happy New Laptop too x
