This sounds far too 'MSE' but actually looks quite stylish. Wrap presents in newspaper. You can still stick a bow or the card to it. I used to do this in Aus as there was a particular supplement that was printed on green paper, but still looks cool with normal newspaper. It just gets torn off and thrown away anyway!
And here is how it looks when finished: http://www.bystephanielynn.com/2009/12/rolled-flower-gift-toppers.html ! I loved those, they are very stylish!Miggy

The other cheapy wrapping paper is good old brown paper, preferably tied with raffia or rough string and if you were feeling brave/creative you could make a tag out of a bit of a cardboard box.
Yay to the mystery shopping and blood donation - of course the steak is a very good idea as it will help your iron levels.
Those ideas for gift wrap look fab :T.....Love the flowers. Always try and wrap pressies in brown paper with ribbon - does fine for me....the ribbon adds the bit of fancy stuff....
Och don't work too hard LG...

Hi!
Thanks for all those gift wrap ideas will definitley use them!
So, went riding yesterday morning, Had my favourite horse. He has arthiritis in his legs so has been on strict walk exercise since before xmas, the vet gave us the go head to start incorporating a bit of trot today so she told me to take him in the park! So I did, and boy was he fresh!!! I must have sat at least 15 bucks some with zero warning and one was so huge even my friend was gobsmacked! He was being so naughty because I wasn’t letting him hoon around - he hates being cooped up and not being exercised well!!! Anyway it was good confidence building for me! HAHA
Having survived that, went and gave blood and as you all said it was absolutley fine! Nurses were lovely and it was a bit uncomfortable when the needle went in but nothing major!! I had to squeeze on a toy as it was flowing quite slowly they said! Then I munched on some custard creams, took a club bar, made the next appointment and job done!
Just studied after work last night again, my FM and his gf had a lovely valentines meal together which was making me drool and then watch my Big Fat Gypsy Wedding - I just watch it open mouthed, it's astonishing.
Quiet one for the rest of the week and college on Sat which requires sandwiches to be made!
I had a NSD yesterday taking me to 5 and hoping for another today. Payday is a week on Friday and it will include our bonus, my boss in on holiday this week so we think we'll find out Monday how much
Me and S in my team are going to our Milan office next month to iron out the accounting issues we have with them which is quite exciting but will need to set some money aside for expenses that I'll then claim back. My hotel room needed to be booked with a credit card so S put it all on hers for me

Hey LondonGirl - finally caught up with you diary again.
Your morning ride sounds like fun! They get so fed up being on restricted exercise - I bet he really enoyed it too. Is he very old? My horse is getting on a bit old now but (touch wood) he isn't that stiff and still manages to act like a youngster! He was a right twit last night - exploded twice and then I gave up and lunged him until the sting had gone.
Wow - the trip to Milan sounds like fun. Will you get some time to enjoy the city (albeit without spending of course)? It is great going somewhere like that when you don't have to pay. Very MSE!0 -
Oooh Milano - I love the place - it is a great place for window shopping.
Thought I would share some news - the house offer was made by parents on Monday and accepted today now the really scary part starts as I am skinter than a skint thing already and a house will add to that skintyness. Still I am dead excited and have things to sell to supplement bills and will be switching to Freeview but I will miss the Universal channel (for Sea Patrol) and Discovery (for Storm Chasers) and SkyLiving (for Grey's Anatomy).
I have found somewhere cheap to have my hair done too - I am off there in a little while to have a colour allergy test - my local college has a hair salon that is open to the public. Cost for cut and colour with a senior is £32, £28 with a graduate £24 with an intermediate and £20 with a trainee. This will be better than going to Adee Phelan in Brum as my stylist charges £150:eek:
Well done on the debt busting and the horse riding - enjoy Milano.0 -
Hey LG,
I've just caught up on your diary and all sounds like it's going well. Did I miss the blind date story though, or has that not happened yet?
Did your friend like her present and is she being ok with you again?
Have a good day.0 -

I did that for a while. Last time I went (autumn) I found this trainee who was training in one of the top salons in town and she did it all for £5.50... If you're uncertain go for the senior or graduate. Still a HUGE saving though but you'll be in there half the day :rotfl:...
Now I cut my own hair (it's long and straight). Not a prob. Got a vid from Youtube and like some scissors from amazon. Sorted....The first pair I got were rubbish (£5 pair) so I got Ma to get me some £10 ones for the holidays...:T...they are fine...

Erme - I am seeing a senior as my previous hairdresser chopped into the back and now my hair looks a mess so it needs sorting. I don't think that I will be there for half a day though - if I was seeing an intermediate or even visiting their training salon (Tuesday nights) then I will be there longer.0
