Hey LondonGirl - finally caught up with you diary again.

Your morning ride sounds like fun! They get so fed up being on restricted exercise - I bet he really enoyed it too. Is he very old? My horse is getting on a bit old now but (touch wood) he isn't that stiff and still manages to act like a youngster! He was a right twit last night - exploded twice and then I gave up and lunged him until the sting had gone.

Wow - the trip to Milan sounds like fun. Will you get some time to enjoy the city (albeit without spending of course)? It is great going somewhere like that when you don't have to pay. Very MSE!

    Hey!

Yeah I think he enjoyed it but he really wanted a canter and gallop I think that's why he was bucking so much, his back kept tensing up and then BOOM! haha Yes he is nearly 20 but acts 2!! haha well done wish we could lunge ours but the school is always being used for drills!

We're flying out the last Sunday in March and land at 3 then back the next day at 5 so will only really have Sunday night to do anything I guess but will still be nice to see a new city!

Oooh Milano - I love the place - it is a great place for window shopping.

Thought I would share some news - the house offer was made by parents on Monday and accepted today now the really scary part starts as I am skinter than a skint thing already and a house will add to that skintyness. Still I am dead excited and have things to sell to supplement bills and will be switching to Freeview but I will miss the Universal channel (for Sea Patrol) and Discovery (for Storm Chasers) and SkyLiving (for Grey's Anatomy).

I have found somewhere cheap to have my hair done too - I am off there in a little while to have a colour allergy test - my local college has a hair salon that is open to the public. Cost for cut and colour with a senior is £32, £28 with a graduate £24 with an intermediate and £20 with a trainee. This will be better than going to Adee Phelan in Brum as my stylist charges £150:eek:

Well done on the debt busting and the horse riding - enjoy Milano.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is fantastic news I am so pleased for you, can't wait to hear how you get on with all the plans you have for it and I am sure once you are in you will find plenty of MSE ways to reduce the skintness!

That's a fantastic price on the haircut, I go home to a mate to have mine done and even with 10% for mates rates off its £33 but he does it wonderfully and I only go twice a year and my colour is from a bottle so I figure its OK!

    Hey LG,
I've just caught up on your diary and all sounds like it's going well. Did I miss the blind date story though, or has that not happened yet?

Did your friend like her present and is she being ok with you again?

    Have a good day.

    Hey

No you haven't missed a thing, so far no plans have surfaced so I wonder if he backed out and she was embarrased to tell me but that's OK. My friend had a date last night and she ended up paying for both their dinners! Havent got the details yet on that but you'd think he'd at least go dutch!!!

She did thank you and yes she is so she must have gotten over whatever was bothering her!

  • So, Monday my team have a meeting to provide all of our roles and responsibilities to corporate - where they want to move us to and a chance to voice any concerns. Then my boss is taking that feedback to his management meeting with them on Weds, so hoping to know more after that. Feeling a bit down about it but trying to look at the positives. It has also been confirmed we will recieve bonus letters on Monday

I have booked next Friday off as it is payday so I can ring my loan companys from home and hopefully arrange over payments and can also lie in and crack on with studying!

I am on for a NSD today, didn't get one yesterday as I bought a lettuce on the way home to fill my wraps!

I have a riding lesson tonight, I got a discount so booked a jumping lesson which will be fun! I am paying for it from the money I moved into my online saver and its payable by cheque so I'll lose a NSD when that clears I think!

Henna? how does that work for hair?? Intrigued!

You get the powdered stuff with lemon juice in it or get it from the eco friendly cosmetics store (the one that stinks as you walk past it LOL). It's cheaper from the asian store...

    Videos on youtube (loads)....

Mix it...wash your hair...gunk it on all over....add cling film....leave 2-4 hours try and wash out (then change your shower curtain LOL)....

Think that's how you do it..it has to be quite gunky but moist....I can't recall the exact consistency... Cheap hair colour....not runny....

PS. this link might help http://www.hennaforhair.com/freebooks/

Or try youtube...you don't need the posh stuff. Just the stuff from an asian store in packets (with lemon juice added) or like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT2W2o9ebzQ&feature=relmfu

  • Well, today has been a roller coaster of emotion. You all remember my friend who is going through thyroid cancer? She's coming off her meds in preperation for scans and potentially more radiotherapy at the end of the month.

She's decided to do a charity horse ride across Mongolia in aid of Help for Heroes to raise money and give something back in June once she hopes to be fit from the next part of treatment should she need it. To help boost donations a journalist friend wrote her story.

This morning when I got into the office I logged in BT Yahoo to check emails and on the homepage was her picture and a headline about fighting cancer aged 26. Stupidly opened it at my desk, read it and then started reading the comments readers had left and before I knew it I had locked myself in the shower/toilet room absolutely bawling my eyes out. It just brought it all back, exactly what she has been through and she's so amazing, I really don't think I could have coped as well as her with what she;s been through. The donations on her page to H4H rose almost £3,000 today - unbelieveable. I was refreshing the page all day and peoples generosity just overwhelmed me, and her - all of us have been tearful the whole day.

My friend at work saw me all upset and suggested a Nando's lunch. I had a free 1/2 chicken on my loyalty card so said yeah and spent £6.90 altogether.

Go through the afternoon with no dramas, went home via Mr T and stocked up on essentials and ingredients for another batch of pea and ham soup which is bubbling away nicely now, it smells delish!

College tomorrow, I have got tuna wraps with salad to take and there's water dispeners in the classrooms so thats me sorted. No plans the rest of the weekend so hoping to cross the halfway mark on NSD's this weekend.

The bonus letters were given to managers today and they've been instructed to hand them out on Monday - our secretary knows EVERYTHING!!!

Riding was loads of fund last night, had a lovely mare called Madison, who was lazy to start but soon livened up when the jumps went up!

Hope you are all OK xx

  • Sorry to hear that. There are no words. I think if I had 3 wishes, one o them would be for cancer not to exist. Everyone is touched by it in one way or another. Stay strong for her xx

  • Morning,

I got another NSD yesterday but can't remember if it is 6 or 7 so I'll check my spreadsheet tomorrow.

College was OK yesterday, I'm struggling to take it all in, so going to go over it all again today. It was really hard seeing all of my friends get ready to go out after college and I couldn't go, it still seems like such a long way away - both the exams and debt-free ness. My exams are 13 weeks away so I'm going to make a chart on my wall of 13 pieces of paper from top to bottom and plan out the days and weeks and hopefully it will keep me on track. Feeling a bit meh about it all this weekend, I'm hoping tomorrow will be a boost with the letter thats due.

I'm at college tomorrow and Weds night so planning to take in some food to eat before hand. Tues night is the mystery shopper meal at the nice steak restaurant so that will be treat.

Hope you're all having a good one. I might sacrifice a NSD today to get something more interesting to eat in my sandwiches tomorrow, if I see one more can of tuna I might just throw it out the window!
