((((((((((((((((((Mushypeas))))))))))))) I hope there was nothing too precious in your bag.

Cat - that is great news from the hospital.

Why do people have to be so thoroughly nasty? My best friend was walking back from her shift as playground assistant and stepped off the kerb to allow a "lady" with 2 dogs to pass by. She was a complete cow and said to my friend that "you people always do that and if you don't like dogs then you should go back to your own country". My friend is far too nice to say anything rude back but I would have slapped the cow if I'd been there.

We've been friends ever since I had to have the fire brigade to my house and out of all my fellow white neighbours she was the only one to take my children into her house out of the rain, how dare someone speak to her like that! I'm so upset for her and ashamed of being white at the moment :(

    Hello All

I haven't had opportunity to read all the earlier posts yet, I will do so shortly. Hope everyone is OK today.

I'm having a so-so day, for some reason I feel out of sorts, but it's probably just because I am unwell and the weather is SO grey ....

I have been going through the old threads on the OS Board and there is so much excellent information given, I have my notebook alongside me so that I can jot down ideas and suggestions. I don't get paid for sick leave so I am glad that I have already done my meal planner and know that I have enough food in the freezer and pantry to see us through.

I am expecting a delivery from the Book Club people soon, I have ordered some books for my neice and nephew that will do for their birthdays, so that will help the budge too, in the long run.

    Have a good afternoon.

How awful for your friend. DD has been terrified of dogs since an early age as one bounded up and knocked her flat on her back. She often crosses the road if she sees a dog she thinks might be a bit frisky! There are many reasons why folk avoid dogs and after all your friend was being considerate.

I have nothing against dog owners or dogs but we do have a number in our area who open the door, let the dog roam and of course don't follow through with the clean-up of s**t!

Didn't get out of bed u ntil midday which isn't that great! Must try harder to get into a better routine re: bedtimes and getting up.

Anyhow, DW is on and I plan to clean the kitchen again!!!!
I have clean washing to fold and out away and WM to go on at bedtime
Bedroom could do with a proper clean and may well get round to that later
Need to mealplan - been saying that all week, but not feeling so great, not eating properly but I have no fresh fruit or veg in and that's not good.

My friend/ workmate is popping over for a cuppa tea and a chat in a bit so all of those jobs will have to wait!

    Hiya

Update on bag fiasco, as I bank online I can't get any money out until my card arrives!! How rubbish is that? Not very helpful at all, hopefully I can ask my friends to lend me some money.

I've also started a thread about Card Protection Plans, would have been easier just to make one phonecall and get everything cancelled. If you know of a good one please post here:

Thanks for everyone's support. The most annoying thing is that due to flylady and OS inspiration I had picked up a copy of 'declutter your house' to get me started on that and the book was in my bag - doh!

    Oh well.

And the onions for my OS soup :(

    Back to work.

Hi all, sorry havn't had time to read earlier posts today, and don't normally post on daily thread. I just had to tell everyone, My dad took us (7 of us) to Frankie & Bennys just before Christmas for a special occasion and the meal was awful won't go into it all now, didn't pay that night and have also been invited back for a free meal up to the value of 150 quid. Not been out for about 6 weeks so can't wait, going on Sunday for my dads birthday!!

Tried to link to your card protection thread but I think our systems are on a go slow here at work today.

By coincidence a colleague has just been talking to his Dad re card protection plans. Seemingly it was brought up on a tv programme this morning and some banks are charging the earth for card protection. Colleague's Dad in early 70s so toddled off to Lloyds to check what was happening with his card plan. Was told he could only be covered until he was 75! He is now paying more (I think) to ensure no-one has to pick up his card debts when he dies. Seems rather ageist I think. Are the banks implying senior citizens are more of a risk? Thought folk might find this interesting.

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

I'm feeling energised as I got back from my morning of work and did my Rosemary Conley DVD straight away. I feel all virtuous now. :D

However, I sat down to come on the computer and my 'phone went. It was our letting agent saying that our landlord is wanting to sell our house. :( Now, I know that he has every right to do this BUT it came as quite a shock to me. DH is still away, so I've just had to tell him the news via text. There was a very similar house for sale up the road last year, but it never sold. However, the landlord seems to think that he would possibly sell to another person wanting to buy to let. We'll see, in the meantime, it has taken the "wind out of my sails".

I gave in to temptation last night and had fish, chips and mushy peas. This means that I've GOT to be good tonight and have my sizzling steak stir fry. That and rushing around manically, trying to get the house in some sort of order ready for the estate agent to come round tomorrow to value the house.

    So, I'll go for now.

Get your locks changed to be on the safe side.

I agree with the comment about Frankie and Bennys- we went last Friday night and the fish my DH had and I had was awful!! Will never go there again if I can help it - or if there is no choice as DDs like the place then I will just drink coffee.
