ShirleyPark wrote:Hello. I've been lurking around here for a while, and thought I'd say hi and hopefully join in a bit, as long as you don't mind having me. Just posted on the getting to know you thread if you want to know a bit about me.
I've been slowly getting more and more into the OS way of things. I'm sure over the next few days I'll be after some help as we're trying to use up the stuff in the cupboards and freezer etc and we're beginning to run low, time for some major creative cooking I feel. Though atleast the boyfriend is cooking dinner tomorrow as he's working from home
The trick is not to mix too many things together. If you have sausages in the fridge, add something sour, since the traditional recipies do that (Roast pork and apple, sausage and sauerkraut). Don't be afraid to buy something else to round the meal off. Whats the point in a chilli with no kidney beans?.
Most chefs will use a few good quality ingredients, rather than dozens of flavours that just confuse the eater, and make them feel ill. Work on the same principle."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

Thanks. I think we are going to have to go buy a few things to round it off, for a start we have no fresh veggies left, just frozen ones and not that many of them either. I'm hoping that we can put that off until the weekend, and then I'll probably take a look at what we have left and come up with a meal plan for the rest of the month. It doesn't help that the boyfriend is a vegetarian that doesn't like vegetables - makes cooking more of a challenge. We do have some veggie mince in the freezer so I see shephards pie in our future.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -

Sorry - I meant to mention you earlier. Hope wee ones are OK. You are going through a hard time. However. your Mum Twink seems fab. Will see what I can do re sponsoring diet.
Ausielass - probably now disconnected. Hope all goes well with the move in. Very cold in Scotland today and more vicious weather tomorrow! When do you arrive?

I think I am off to bed, I am so tired with DH waking me up at 2.30 this morning. I am really annoyed with him as he paid for his filling (£42!) on his credit card which has now put him over the limit
I quickly paid some money onto his card but the transaction will go through before the payment
I wanted to pop into town tomorrow but I'd better not now although XDH reckons that the maintenance I didn't get last week has been taken out of his bank and I should get it soon. I think I'd better use it to pay some more off DH's credit card though. I had no idea he had got so close to the limit.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Welcome the necomers - enjoy your stay with us!!!
I watched BB tonight, and still see the bullying/b*tching still going on, its not nice at all. If they won the task I think things would have changed, but now they are living on basic rations, tempers will fray again!
I think Shilpa deserves a medal, I love the way she talks, I could listen to her for ages. She has got better english than me! (hope that doesn't sound awfull - I dont mean it in that way - oh shut up Emma before you put your foot in it) But Feel saddened by "Jo" of all people to continue to mimic her!
Ive just had a bowl of menthol crystal as instructed by the nurse, OH decided to have a sniff also. Will have to wait n see if it makes any difference.
Wrapped most of the parcels for ebay, ready to post tomorrow, still a few payments not been made yet, but I do allow 7 days, so not too worried,
Anyway, time for bed, Goodnight All, hope we have a better nights sleep!
Chat in the morning
Love as usual
