Really? My BFs mum is exactly the same. OP, I sympathise with you as I've seen how she treats him... She treats him worse than a dog sometimes. Regardless of the rest of the thread, there *are* parents out there who just plain aren't made to be loving and maternal.

ive not met anyones parent who wants they're son/daughter out of the house and permanently.

not to mention if they have fleas or worms and have to scrape their bums on the floor cos their anal glands are impacted I have not lived I tell you! I am gobsmacked!!!

Jasper-dog comes to work with me every day! (He's never had fleas or worms, and he's never wiped his bum or his willie on the carpet!) :T I'm very lucky (as is Jasper, I guess!). However - loads of blind and deaf people go to work with their Guide or Hearing Dogs...

Vanille - I was in a similar position, my mum was asking me to leave home, as I was "in her way" (she mentioned that Jasper was welsome to stay). I say similar, but I was working, rather than studying. I got my name onto the Housing List asap - had to wait at least 7 years until my name finally came up though... I'm sorry that you have this situation.

Best wishes.

This has to be a troll post.

Sell the PS3. No, you don't have to worry about "buying it back later". Because you'd be a muppet to pay £00s for a gaming system while you have less than a few grand in the bank. At which point you won't give a sh*t, and the next generation will probably be out anyway.

Spending money frivolously like that is what kids do with pocket money.
Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”
Said Diogenes, “Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.”

To summarise:

Hormonal teenager who is convinced he knows everything and needs to do things his way, is living at home and does not get on with mother.

The only difference for this very common situation is that the "teenager" is in his early twenties and needs to grow up.

Does that sound about right?
• not at all, sounds more like you being a bit mean to someone who was asking for a bit of advice.
I sometimes wonder if its best to ask for advice on these sites as people interperate details in different ways which is fair enough and expected but the nastiness is a bit gobsmacking sometimes.

That does not mean they don't exist.

I was 16 and pregnant when I was asked to leave home unless I stopped seeing my boyfriend. This led me to marrying him which was a mistake, but was in the days when there was little alternative.
