I haven't read through 13 pages of this tripe, just a random selection but Oh My! what an absolute idiot vanille is.
If you were mine you would have had a size 10 right up your backside as I kicked you down the street.
Post after post, waffle after waffle. Nobody would spend so much time on a forum stamping their feet in an attempt to illicit described responses (arguments between posters) except a Troll.0 -
Why does your mum feel this way about you ? is it because you have moved back in after she has had a few years getting used to you not being in the house or is it something else.0

The fact is, the world is changing and companies are slowly changing to give people better 'benefits' to enhance productivity. Some companies encourage you to bring pets to work or to play games at work (Like Google) and soon smaller companies will follow suit.

That is a luxury to a lot of people & it costs a lot of money.0

I am amazed at the maount of unpleasant remarks on here!!!:eek::eek:
Shocking really, some people really should read the MSE guidelines on how to treat fellow posters.
OP - I really hope you can get this resolved as falling out with parents is never good and hopefully you will find it improves once you have your own place.
You come actross to me as an intelligent man but who is baffled by the meaness and lack of respect from some people, whether from on here or your mother.
I have toadmit this forum often baffles me with some posts I read but I try not to let it get to me!
I wouldn't bother much on this forum to be honest, and would focus on getting the course work done knowing what will be achieved form it. Good luck although I don't think you need luck, you sound like you know exactly what you can do and postive thought like that can only be good.
Whilst not trying to be sounding too sarcastic at posters on here as many have given contructive advice and points for you to consider, it does come across that you are an intelligent man, and probably more so then a few on here who also seem to spend all their time on here - kind of speaks for itself! :rotfl:
I hope it all works out for you.0 -
Vanille this is my first comment on your post, and I realise its gone quiet now thankfully but it's taking me a few days of lunch breaks at work to get through it! I think what you need to take from all of these 13 pages, is that no matter how much you feel the need to defend yourself, you're not going to get the answer to your problems on a forum.
I too had to write an 18,000 word dissertation and like many students, left it until 2 weeks before the deadline, but I realised after working through the night that there is only so much you can do that will be productive. You could easily allocate yourself some time, say that you will work on it from 9-4 with a break for lunch, and I guarantee you'd have had it done in the number of days this thread has been active for. You could then have a part time job in the evenings which will get you out of the house and away from your family.
I am not going to take sides as this thread has turned quite sour, but I do sort of understand where you are coming from. I think you are trying too hard to justify everything in your life, and everything needs an explanation. I don't mean to sound patronising, but sometimes in life people won't like you, or respect you, and will talk down to you, but then there are lots of people who won't. If you get yourself depressed and fixated over those that do, you'll lose the people that don't. Does that make any sense?
Why don't you make your next post and update on your dissertation which I think many of us are curious about and your plans for afterwards. You're an excellent writer, and if you write as thoroughly in your work as you do on here, you'll get a good mark.
As a final thought, you are not alone in feeling misunderstood, but the sooner you accept that you don't have to be understood by everyone in the world, the better it will get for you

Sorry OP but i honestly cant believe a parent who dislikes they're son/daughter so bad they want them out. What have you done for her to feel about you this way ?
Really? My BFs mum is exactly the same. OP, I sympathise with you as I've seen how she treats him... She treats him worse than a dog sometimes. Regardless of the rest of the thread, there *are* parents out there who just plain aren't made to be loving and maternal.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
OP, you said you've represented your country at high level sport. I'm assuming you're in good physical condition. I'd seriously recommend joining the army. Despite recession/cuts, they are still desperate for applicants. You'll get a decent wage, accomodation, and you can scrap your degree and it won't matter. You'll be free of our parents and any decent member of society will have respect for you - anyone who doesn't is not worthy of respect themselves.
Seriously, quit the whining and get yourself down to a recruitment office. I'm told it's a fantastic lifestyle: you'll make great friends, get the chance to travel and play sport, and you get to shoot people who let's face it, completely deserve it.B.A - Shut up fool!0 -
Good idea - except that if the OP is prone to getting into arguments with people, he might become very unpopular in the Army....0
