£20.00 a week , 3 lines both euro million draws and 3 lines on the normal lotto wed and sat and 2 scratch cards with the change,

I know for a fact I spent at least 1000 time more than I have ever won, But if I didnt buy them it would go on beer instead.

See when I see that, I think right thats £1040 a year. So that would pay for me to go to Hawaii every year. So Id rather have a guaranteed holiday than a miniscule chance of winning something. Each to their own I guess.

I think for the first couple of years of the lottery here in the UK I played £1 a week, the most I ever won was £62.

I don't play it now, or buy scratchcards. My OH does occasionally, he never wins - ever.

However if we did win big time, I would never work another day in my life! I would be too busy shopping and holidaying.Ahh you have to dream don't you? I think that is all it is for most people, a dream..

I don't think my life would change that much. I certainly wouldn't give up work and do nothing for the next 50 years!

I just do £1 a week. Not much chance of winning, but I figured if the risk is just £1 and the potential gain is quite a bit of money then it's worth it, just for a bit of fun.

But I don't like seeing people who obviously don't have much money spending pounds and pounds on scratchcards.

If I won enough where I could feasibly not have to work again, I wouldn't.

I would instead spend the time that I would have been working doing things that I would like to do but haven't really got chance to at present - write a novel, make a film, more travelling etc.

Of course, the truth is that even if I won £1m on the lottery, I couldn't give up working at my age.
  • I like this thread. I just realised I hadn't got my ticket for tonight, logged on and played an instant while I was on and won £7 :-) It's nice to have some good luck!

£2 a week on the office syndicate and occasionally £1.50 if it's a humungous rollover amount on the EuroMillions.

Shows how long it has been since you did the Euromillions.....it's now £2 not £1.50 :rotfl:

I know I did that and ended up practically arguing with the SA that the euro was not equivalent to £2:rotfl::rotfl: I really struggled to understand how the national one could be £1 and the euro double so rarely did that one unless there was all those rollovers, then I did:D

They bumped the Euromillions up to £2 when they added the Millionaire Raffle to the game.
