I got quoted £1800 at 19.9%. I hit proceed and was accepted. I was informed t&c docs would be posted and I need to show Id in branch. I went today to sign in branch with id, and noticed the branch copy back page had been auto ticked in the accepted box and it set out my rate and limit. G( there were boxes that said further check required, declined, and manual referral)
Once they have this faxed over it's just a case of waiting for the card according to the guy over the phone. He told me it had all gone through ok.
    Hope this helps others.
P.s I was told going to branch to sign with I'd rather than waiting for post quickens the process up.

    Sorry, I meant 15.9% apr

Yeah, I think the 15.9% usually means acceptance. It's the 19.9% quote that's worrying. If it were combined with a limit of below £1000, it's meant to be a guaranteed decline.

I was sure the quote was 18.9 but my papers said 15.9%. It could have changed on full credit check?
  • Hi Everyone

I've been reading this thread for ages and I've just had a quote of £3,200 and APR of 17.9%. As far as I can see this APR hasn't appeared before. Has anyone else seen it and what do you think my chances are?

    Thanks in advance.

@NickYorks, it is most likely to be a Yes based on that amount of credit limit and that Apr quoted . Most people were refused if quoted 19.9 Apr and lower limit.

but have you checked your credit file recently to see if everything is in order?
    Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/5
  • I've just done this check and I get 15.9% APR and £1000 limit for the Select and 19.9% APR and £500 limit for the standard card.

I'm going to go with that being a decline. My credit rating is fine, but my debt to income ratio is high. 4k debt to 11k salary (student).

With those quotes I don't think Nationwide agree with your good credit and I would say it's more then likely a decline with those figures.

My credit report is fine. Over 4 years with all greens, no missed payments etc. 2 credit searches in the last 12 months.

My available credit and debt compared to my income is quite high which would be the reason for the not so great quotes.

4k debt, 7k available on around 10.6k income.

Barclaycard declined me and gave the reason as high debt to income ratio.
  • Hi,

I just read all this, did the soft credit search for the Nationwide select card, got £4,500 limit wit 15.9% apr. I've banked with them for 6 years. My experian report is clean apart from showing as not on the electoral roll (I am but waiting for CRA's to update). I am also self employed.

    It was a decline...

I am guessing any SE applications are just automatically declined. Great.

No I'm guessing it's the electoral roll thing.
