Nationwide Soft-Search

I just applied for a Nationwide Flexplus Current Account and was also offered a Nationwide Select Credit Card as part of my application, they've quoted me a credit limit of £2000 and a 19.9% APR also with a 0% Purchase rate of 15 months plus a Balance Transfer term of 26 months, everything seemed to go well and on the final screen it said that my application has been approved in principle, my question is though does that mean I've definitely been approved or is there any reason why I shouldn't?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

I was accepted on 2k and 19.9% apr last year... only have 2 months left then its bye bye time unless they want to keep me and that will only happen if they drop it to 12.9 apr and give me another purchase free period, I don't care about the 0.5% cashback0 -
Got £1,200 at 19.9% which I assume is a rejection, so didn't try and go further. I have no defaults, no ccj's and no mortgage and a mobile phone contract and catalogue but no credit cards, 3 years at current address, I did guess how long I was with my bank as I haven't a clue around 7 years?
I would still like a credit card but do not want lots of applications on my credit card.
I have no idea if I'm on the electoral register, I used to only be on the edited register at my last place and have voting cards through.
I only put wages down and not other income which I receive.Wishing you a lucky 2023: 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀0 -
I applied this afternoon and was offered £4k at 19.9%. I hit the next button, was asked to set up a direct debit and internet banking, and finally landed on this screen:"Thank you for your application, in the next few days you will receive your Credit Agreement by post. Please ensure you sign and return this agreement within 14 days of receipt.
Should identification be required, we will ask for this to be taken to your local branch.
Once we have received the required documentation, and provided that your personal details have not changed, you should receive your Credit Card within a further 10 working days."
So, on the face of it, it sounds like an accept.
That was with a satisfied default back in 2010, a CCJ also during 2010 (which was the result of a mix up in communications, and was settled just a couple of days after the deadline for having it removed - bah!), and about 8/9 months of trying to undo the damage by using a Cap1 subprime card with a well-managed account.
I'm still not 100% convinced that I'll receive the Nationwide card though - I'll believe it when it drops through the door!0 -
Well done
I just checked and I'm only on the edited electoral register, so will change that temporarily and again apply in a month or so as I'm in no rush.Wishing you a lucky 2023: 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀0 -
As far as i'm aware the opting out of the edited electoral roll is purely for not being sent to marketing firms, it still means you are on the electoral role as far as credit applications.
I may be wrong but that's how I interpret it.-== CREDIT BUILD IN PROCESS 30% COMPLETE ==-

I am going from my Noddle report which says I'm not on the electoral register as far as credit agencies are concerned, but I am on the edited electoral register for voting.
I would rather stay on the edited version, so if it is the case that it doesn't matter either way, I might have to apply for a credit builder card, which I think are terrible APR but may be a means to an end.Wishing you a lucky 2023: 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀0 -

Thats correct. The CRAs get the full register.0 -
I just tried a soft search, because of my history they came back with £500 limit at 17.9% so I thought it's better than my Capital One card. I regret doing the next bit. On the next page they came back with Declined.
So now I'm just going to carry on managing my Capital One card.Littlewoods £0/£750
