  • Hi peeps!

I got a quote of £1'800..Forgot about the % bit...But I was told to bring in ID, which I did, they said its all good to go providing I show ID....Ok so I've done this 3 times now, first they said the passport shows in the system and I just need to show proof of address, after I did proof of address, now they're saying they need to see ID Passport? I don't understand...I had an issue with my surname being mispelt by 1 letter, but they said that was rectified in the branch and it has nothing to do with any verification now, but still need to do passport ID check again, tommorrow.

What do u think is going on here?

surely the if it was a name issue then soft checks would not have gone through right?

    what exactlydo soft-checks look for?

Bouncing this thread I should mention I received a decline for their credit card based around a quote of 18.9% APR and a limit of £3,800.

To say I'm displeased is an understatement, and I am ensuring they're aware of my displeasure with this quote tool.

I'm sure they will panic given they obviously didn't want your business in the first place!

I posted to ensure that people would be mindful as the majority who have received similar offers haven't had problems but there's no guarantee.

They probably will be somewhat concerned given I have other products from them, but I do appreciate your wasting your time replying in such a pointless way. :)

Doubt they are that concerned, and pleased to see my response matches your post in terms of usefulness.
