  • Hi I did an application on a nationwide credit card and it offered me £4500 on 17.9℅. I Reduced the drop bar to £2500 as its all i require and it approved and said my credit agreement is in the post. Is that a done deal then?!

Nationwide will carry out the usual fraud checks as long as they come back fine and you sign and return your agreement.

Ok thanks I'm guessing it will be all ok as I just opened a flexaccount with them and got a £1000 overdraft with them even though I have not banked with them for 5 years, I'm really impressed. I will certainly be looking to mortgage with them when the time comes. :)
  • Hi OH got quoted £1000 at 15.9% does this look like a decline or an acceptance. Trying to look back on past messages it seems the Apr would hint yes but the limit no? There's nothing negative on his credit history other than the lack of it but he has been with Nationwide for 10 years and the electoral role for 4.

In my opinion I think the low limit is more down to the fact that "your partner does not have much credit history"

The usual quote for a decline is £500 @19.9%

We spoke about it and decided to give it at least another month of green dots from cc and new bank account as well as nationwide one.

I know soft searches can't be seen by other lenders but do Nationwide themselves hold a negative view of people doing them too often?

Only Nationwide themselves could answer that question, but I doubt they will as it could be seen as commercially sensitive information.

From my personal view point I doubt very much that it will have any negative impact on future applications.

My friend who is building their credit got 17.9% and 1400 limit on the standard card (There income is quite low, so a low limit would be expected anyway). Does this look like an accept or decline?

It looks very much like an acceptance but as you probably know, it will depend upon the result of a full credit check.

Understand that it depends on the full check, but what do you think about £1,000 at 17.9% APR? Not quite the highest APR and not quite the lowest limit.

Looking for somewhere to move my £800 BNPL 30% APR plan. Does this look like acceptance? I have no defaults or late payments, just quite a bit of active credit.
